This was my first time to San Miguel but not my husbands. He has wanted to take me there for sometime. I certainly understand why. Lovely, old world, charming and quite beautiful. We chose La Mansion Del Bosque based on all the positive reviews I read when I was researching B&Bs. It was everything I expected based on what I...

The owners of this hotel are as far from rude and impolite. The experience at San Miguel was the best thing except for this hotel. I talked with this woman called Ruth, owner of the hotel, which gave me a rate ($1000 per night). When we arrived there hoping to have a great experience at this hotel, they told us...

I just returned from my first trip to San Miguel de Allende. What a remarkable place, and our stay at Mansion del Bosque was certainly part of the experience. Wonderful ambiance and charm, very fitting for San Miguel. All the rooms are different and worth a look and the staff keeps the place absolutely spotless. My friend and I stayed...

This is the first place I recommend to those traveling in Mexico. Actually, this inn is what inspired us to travel to Mexico several times over the last decade. It is not a luxury hotel. It is simply wonderful. The rooms are quintessential mexico; colorful, comfortable and you can eat off the floors! This inn is what Mexico is all...

My wife and I stayed in unit 9. It was upstairs, with a king bed, and a balcony. We loved this place and took many pictures. We highly recommend -- we would stay here again. It is about 3 blocks from town (5 min walk). It is right next to a beautiful parc. You can hear the birds and see...

This hacienda was very unique. The owner/manager is an older women who still kicks up her heals for the mariachi band. I was there with a large group of artist. Each room had its own personality and charm. They were clean and breakfast and dinner were wonderful! Its just a short walk into the town center and I plan to...

March 10, 2005 Ruth (the owner) can be abrupt, speaker her mind, but overall she did a great job to make our stay very enjoyable.

I find it unfortunate that two reviewers of this charming inn have made derogatory remarks about the hostess. Senora Hyba has been the owner of this B&B since the 1960s and has been in San Miguel for over 50 years. She possesses character and grace. She has a dry sense of humor, but that is part of her charm. I...

The B&B is lovely. Super location, a great breakfast (30 pesos!!) and the rooms have lots of character. However, the one big negative that impacted the overall experience is that the owner, Ruth Hyba, was irritable and harsh (particularly in the mornings) and by the end of our week's stay we did not want to have any interactions with her....

It makes me sad that this reader had a bad experience. The owner, Ruth, an American woman, who came many years ago to Mexico, has been running this inn for a very long time and at times I think she is overwhelmed. However, that said, my friend and I stayed there about a year ago and had a great time....
