The room was clean, but in need of updating, previous guests have stated - but this is reflected in the B & B price. Breakfast was lovely - piping hot and plenty of good quality ingredients. The chef serving us breakfast was particularly friendly, keen to ensure that we had everything we needed to eat.

This was my second visit to this place with a 12 month gap. It is hard to believe how it has gone down hill, starting with a frosty welcome which left me feeling I was an intruding inconvenience. The whole place reeks of cooking oil and is generally grubby and worn. TV in bedroom reported as not working, nothing was...

On arrival everything appeared well with friendly bar-lady handing over keys. However, on entering my room I discovered it had not been vacuum cleaned. There were socks, worn tights and about £20 in coins in a drawer, a worn plaster in the shower tray, hair on the sink and the tooth brush glasses on the sink still had tooth paste...

The rooms are clean and comfortable, but in need of updating. All of the rooms are upstairs. There is a nice restaurant and the full English breakfast is very nice. We also stayed for Sunday lunch, which was very nice and reasonably priced. There is a very friendly bar, where you can meet lots of the local friendly people. The...

We often pop in here for sunday lunch or night time meal. Called today a bit late on, so the staff asked if we could be served and were told yes. We quickly chose our lunch and sat with a drink. One of the staff had her mobile in her hand texting 'lads' as i over heard 90% of the...

We booked here as we'd travelled up from Stoke on trent for a friend's wedding. First impressions were that it was a bit shabby, but the room was clean. All the staff were very friendly and went above and beyond to make us Welcome. The lunch and breakfast were brilliant. For the price we paid could not fault this place...

We stayed here for one night whilst cycling the C2C. Whilst first impressions are not great, don't let that out you off. The room was fine, loads of room and warm with a comfy 4 poster bed. The bathroom could do with a shower and the rooms are a bit tired but for the price it was fine. The evening...

Two of us had Sunday Lunch here on 10th April. Have used this pub many timed in the past for tea and also used the bar a good few times. Anyway - Sunday lunch - wife had the beef which she said was lovely, I had the pork which was fine. There were a couple of issues though. Sunday Lunches...

it was an emergency booking and we thought it would be ok. On arrival, I couldn't believe the state of the carpet in the entrance from the car park. The bar area was incredibly filthy- we stayed for a drink but went into the car park and booked another place. This place is possibly the dirtiest I've been in. My...

Popped here for a leisurely tea. Was very nice. Plenty of choice on the food menu all reasonably priced. There are also some specials on the board. Food is cooked to order. Portion sizes are good, food is fresh and hot and the staff are friendly. There isn't a wine list as such any you just get what's available. All...
