We are a family of five & we stayed in cabin number 1. It was a lovely clean cabin. I was very hesitant about going glamping as I had never been but this place gave a great experience. There is no tv or anyother entertainment but we were told this before booking so we knew what to expect. Bathroom, shower & kitchenette is communal but I have to say very clean. They offered tea/coffee in the kitchenette. The bulb went in the cabin so we popped over to John in the bar across the road to ask what could be done he told me he would be up shortly. I was no sooner in the cabin when there was a knock on the door. He changed the bulb & had a little chat even though the pub had been hopping busy with people eating & drinking. A lovely mañ. Eleanor was a lovely woman to deal with & all the

Stayed at giltraps "townhouse " not what's described on website. At €99 a night plus €9 per person for a breakfast bap consisting of 1 rasher 1 sausage and 1 egg and a croissant was very poor value for money. Room 5 had creaking floor boards ,musty smelling carpet and an old wardrobe with 2 hangers. If this is the standard of room throughout the "townhouse " which is in reality a double terraced house converted I would suggest a major upgrade or convert to backpacking hostel. There is street parking only which is free as mentioned on their very creative website. The giltraps pub menu consists of pizzas and chicken gougons and chips. Having said all that the glamping facility looked really well presented and has an excellent reputation so maybe they have lost focus on "townhouse

Perfect place for alternative couples break. Tranquil and relaxing. Hospitality was first class. Giltraps pub across the road for a few drinks. I’m driving distance to so many beauty spots from Birr Castle to Lough Boora. Kinnity Castle close by which has lovely food reasonably costed. At the foot of Slieve Bloom, for cyclists, runners and walkers, you couldn’t get better. Glamping cabins really clean as are shared washroom facilities. Breakfast Hampers are incredible and tasty. Staff so friendly. Loved our stay and will be back for sure🏕☀️

Stayed hereas a halfway point when walking the Slieve Bloom Way and it worked a treat. John and team looked after us extremely well. We had yummy pizza and pints in Giltraps Pub in the evening and a very comfortable night's stay in our cosy pod. We needed an early start next morning for our 40k hike to Glenbarrow so a breakfast hamper was delivered to us at 8am by special request. Nothing was a big deal for the staff here and they really aim to please. We will certainly be back soon - hopefully for the Offaly Way!

Just back from our trip to giltraps. Couldn't recommend this place enough. We were there for a family birthday absolutely fantastic. The staff are well trained, friendly and will do anything and everything to make sure you're stay is everything you wanted it to be, from bringing you your cooked breakfast every morning(which is delicious) to their barbecue and platters for dinner. We were a big crowd so plenty of looking after us to be done but no problem whatsoever to Eleanor's great smiling staff to shane behind the bar who dealt with the banter and chaos our family bring when we go away. Great time had by all and we can't wait to go back 100% recommend for any age group Great place and brilliant staff little gem everyone has to experience.
