This place is magic! Chris is amazing, knowledgeable and fun. We were only here for one night and wish we had stayed for more. It was clean, cozy and perfect. We compared every other stay to this one and Ardmore Country House was our favorite. Rooms were clean, super comfy and well equipped. Breakfast was delish and great brown bread!! We went to the local pub and had an super fun night - Thanks Chris for joining us and for the laughs and for all the recommendations that we used on the rest of our trip.

First of all, Chris our hostess was awesome! She steered us in the right direction for sights we would be interested in and not too far away. The breakfasts are HUGE and delicious!! The cheese scones are a must! I highly recommend the B&B! We were there for 3 nights and had a wonderful visit.

Myself and 2 friends stayed 6 days in this lovely home. We were impressed the moment we arrived. Our room was roomy, even with 3 beds, lovely antiques, beds and pillows were super comfy, and I am picky! The host, Chris,is so welcoming and agreeable, and a wonderful cook. Breakfast was delightful, homemade scones, bread, jams and each dish we tried was perfect. An easy walk to Catholic Church, Post offce, pub, just a lovely village. Chris is very knowledgeable about the area and made great recommendations for us. We used this as a base and drove all over Ireland from here each day. We felt it was a great central location. We will definitely stay here again when we go to Ireland next time. We were upstairs with beautiful views of the mountains in this lovely rural setting. Thanks

I stayed here overnight for an adventure race in the village. I had a warm Irish welcome on arrival with a cup of tea and a wee cake. Christina was a font of knowledge for the local area and suggested a local place to eat. My room was spotlessly clean and I had a great peaceful nights sleep. Breakfast was included and all freshly cooked. I had the porridge which was fab. Ardmore Country House is a perfect base for those wishing to explore the local area and I’d be delighted to have the opportunity to return and stay here again. Thanks Christina !

Just returned to the UK after 4 great nights at Ardmore Court House. The house is beautifully decorated with great rooms and an amazing garden. Chris is a fabulous host who made our stay so enjoyable with her hospitality, local knowledge and great sense of humour. We enjoyed amazing breakfasts every morning. The local area too has so much to offer to walkers cyclists and traditional music lovers. Loved it,

I visit Offaly as often as I can and always stay at Ardmore Country House. A beautifully preserved elegant stone house on the outskirts of the Kinnity Village it is perfectly located as a base to explore the Slieve Blooms and Birr and the hidden wonders of Offaly, with easy access to Tullamore and beyond. Chris is an excellent host and is so knowledgeable on everything the area has to offer. The bluebells were flowering during my visit and she recommended I visit Knockbarron Wood to see them. I would never have found this gem of a place otherwise. Not only that but she is an accomplished traditional Irish fiddle player and was able to connect me with the local sessions. The house is tastefully fitted out and has an easy relaxed ambience, set in gorgeous gardens. My

I will keep it simple. We made our first trip to Ireland and everyone and each b and b was wonderful. This being our last was not a warm or pleasant experience. We were greeted with " you are early"...no hello. Literally that was what was said at the door....25 minutes before 3PM. Mind you we are driving from location to location in a new country...never an issue at the other b & B's. Hard to time everything perfect. Next we went out to the wonderful local Castle restuarant and the pub in town across the street only to return and be told after quietly watching some tv in the main room to go to bed. If you want a boarding room nanny type place this is it. Also if you have a curfew..state it and we will respect it. All the other b and B's encouraged you to enjoy the local nite

I’m sorry I had to tell you to go to bed at 12.30am but after consuming 11 pints of cider in my house and having returned from the pub you probably did not realize you were so loud that you were disturbing other guests and awaking the household. Yes I did say” you are early when you arrived but it wasn’t meant as a criticism just a statement of fact. What I was thinking was great these guests are early so I won't be waiting around all evening wondering if they have got lost or will arrive at all as is sometimes the case. My other guests that day arrived at 10.00 am from the airport but e-mailed ahead to ask if that was OK. I apologize if you found my comment unwelcoming. I can assure you it was not intended.. Then I took you inside, introduced myself, shook hands and offered you tea or coffee which you declined. I showed you your room which you said was lovely. I then took your wife to the kitchen to store a 12 pack of cider in my fridge. With regards breakfast you said you would be leaving at 5 am. I offered that you could help yourselves to tea /coffee and cereals but you declined as you said it would be too early. Your idea of food bag is a good one thank you for the suggestion. I asked what you wanted to do for the afternoon and offered you the use of mountain bikes however you said you wanted to go to see Shannon Harbour on the river Shannon so I suggested as well as doing that, that Clonmacnoise also on the Shannon was well worth a visit. We spent some time discussing directions and showing you on a map the fastest way to get there as your wife was tired from driving. You later told me you enjoyed the visit. I always recommend places that I consider guests will have a good experience and get the most enjoyment from locally. I recommended The Dungeon Bar in Kinnitty Castle Hotel for dining later and we discussed whether you would walk or drive. Your wife wondered if you could cycle it but I didn’t recommend cycling on the road in the late evening for safety reasons. I also recommended The Slieve Bloom Bar which you visited later. I do not have a curfew or any rules and love to see guests enjoying themselves but not at the expense of other guests. Two other guests occupied the room directly above you one of whom was not feeling very well and spent most of the day in bed. I retired to bed at 10.45pm and you were not in the house. At 12.am I was awakened by loud talking from downstairs and then the TV went on in the sitting room with the doors open. Having consumed 11 500ml cans of cider in the house and been to the pub you probably did not realize how loud you were. I was concerned the noise would continue and that my other guests would be disturbed so at 12.30am I did come down stairs and say it was time for bed. Yes I’m sorry if I was a little abrupt but I am probably not at my best having been awakened from my sleep. Thank you for the nice comment about my home.

Stayed here for an overnight as part of a group down for a Slieve Blooms walking w/e. After our Saturday Glenbarrow walk we were welcomed by Chris with tea/coffee and freshly baked scones! A wonderful start to our stay. The house is lovely and relaxing and the bedrooms cosy & comfy. Excellent hot shower too in en-suite bathroom. An extensive menu for breakfast in the morning with a great Full Irish grill served up with freshly baked brown bread. Had full use of the kitchen then to make packed lunches for our Sunday walk. So - all in all - a great stay and will be back again when we next organise another Slieve Bloom walking w/e.
