Unique place to stay with a dungeon bar and an allegedly haunted bedroom. From the time we pushed open the heavy castle door and walked up the red steps looking at the fabulous stained glass window in Reception, we were enchanted. After an easy 8...More

We only went to the restaurant not the hotel. The staff was great with us. The food was good. The castle is really great. Don’t hesitate to come. The food is very affordable. And when you have the sun outside it’s such a pleasure.

About
Description
Kinnitty Castle, is close to the picturesque village of Kinnitty, Co. Offaly set beautifully against a backdrop of the Slieve Bloom Mountains. The Castle has a long and turbulent history. Dating originally from More 1209, Kinnitty was destroyed and rebuilt not once but twice and yet it retains character and oozes charm. Kinnity is in a great location only 90 minutes from Dublin and is a great stop off point for journeys west or southwards. It is an exceptional place for lovers of good food and the great outdoors. The Castle has a wing (used to be a sort of priory/monastery) thosemight be best as they are together on a corridor at the rear of the Castle.
