In the heart of rural Northumberland in the village of Chatton you'll find The Percy Arms; an ideal place to visit, dine or stay in luxury. Take a drive Northbound on the A1 from Morpeth (a mere 36 miles), follow the signs for Chillingham Castle and you'll descend on the peace and tranquillity of Chatton. On your drive there, you'll witness the spectacle of the Cheviot Hills, the varied hues of the grasses and heaths and appreciate the true splendour of our county. The Percy Arms is the ideal place to visit or stay for those looking for a relaxing break in informal but luxurious surroundings in the Northumberland countryside. The Percy Arms is in close proximity to some fantastic places including the spectacular Northumberland coastline, National Park, fine Castles and country houses, splendid churches and delightful towns and villages. We are also a dog & family friendly establishment.

A very pleasant weekend in a comfortable spacious room. Plenty of hot water all day and large walk in shower in the en-suite bathroom. Food was superb both at dinner time and breakfast. Would definitely return and recommend a stay. There's easy access to the delights of coastal and rural Northumberland via road. A little post office / shop on the corner as well.

Had a very stressful drive to the Percy Arms as was flooded all around. Sadly, on phoning, the person answering the phone wasn't able to give any helpful directions. Eventually arrived. Room was lovely. Rubbish view but comfortable, clean and warm. Very dog friendly. Food excellent. We booked a special offer. Price was good. Upon check out, they charged us £15 for the dog. I think this is unreasonable and to be fair, was not mentioned on website or upon booking. I did email to complain but they didn't reply. The old case of, they've got your money, so don't care.

We ate in the Percy Arms Hotel Pub after a long journey to Northumberland. It was so cosy on a chilly night and we were given a warm welcome. It advertised that it is dog friendly which concerned us but the dogs were very docile and if anything added to the restful ambiance as they lay relaxed on the floor at their owners bar stools. The food was so good and plentiful with generous servings. The lad attending our table was friendly and happy to advise on the food and the good range of regional beers. It was a good start to our holiday Autumn break.

Stayed at the Percy Arms following a visit to Alnwick Gardens. Had a great visit, rooms were well presented clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful. Bar area ambiance and food were really good. I would happily stay here again if we were visiting the area

Sunday lunch was a real letdown. The mashed potatoes the roast potatoes and the Yorkshire pudding were Luke warm with the Yorkshire becoming soggy. It was the same on the two plates we ordered. The meat -beef and lamb was delicious. We had been the previous evening when the pub was packed to the rafters and the food was delicious, fresh and hot. Sunday lunch was not so and with very few people in. After finishing ( I never send anything back to be substituted) I asked if staff would let the chef know about the issues. I emphasised that we wanted nothing from them simply for the message to be passed. Nothing more was said which I thought was unprofessional. So, having already spent well over £100 in the premises over a few days we decided not to return which is a shame as it was our nearest pub, on holiday. If someone had returned and said your message has been passed on thanks that would have been enough for us. …

After looking around for somewhere to stay relatively near Bamburgh Castle, I came across the Percy Arms Hotel and what a great find. From the moment we walked through the door the staff were welcoming and attentive. The room was lovely and the bed was huge, one of the most comfortable I've slept in. Beautifully clean, as was the ensuite, with lots of thoughtful little touches, including a very reasonably priced minibar in the room. The pub part of the hotel was nicely laid out and had some great comfy sofas to relax in as well as a pub dinning area, which was also utilised for breakfast. To the side of the pub is the restaurant, which again is pleasingly decorated and relaxed. The food was wonderful as were the waiting staff, unfaultable service with nothing too much trouble. Breakfast was enormous and beautifully cooked. I shall definitely book there again when I'm back in Northumberland. Simply Fabulous.…

Very warm welcome, room (Chatton Park Hill) in a nice and quiet part of building. Bed very comfortable, walk in shower great as were the complimentary shampoo and soap etc - one of the only recent places I have visited that provide conditioner - so please continue 😃. The full breakfast was simply superb (and enormous) and simply the best I have tasted - quality was so obvious. If I am needing a night’s stay in Northumberland again - I would even go out of my way to stay here. Just one (very slight) negative- there isn’t a dressing table in the room to sit at to dry your hair - however, as there’s a stand alone full length mirror - you can move it to where you need it. Oh yes, another nice tough - mini fridge (silent) - so there’s a jug of fresh milk for you too.
