When faced with an extremely limited choice due to quarantine, we felt immediately attracted by Villa Goluboy Zaliv. The looks of the hotel were really promising: located in a quite secluded area amid the relict forest, it looked like something out-of-this-world. So picturesque and remote it was. Well, when we arrived, we found that the exterior design of the villa lived up tp our expectations and had a view over the sea just as the leaflet on the Internet showed us. The surroundings were unbelievably peaceful and tranquil. The room was none of a disappointment, either. All the essentials were there but nothing above. Nevertheless, it was spotless and it is something I pay most attention to. The breakfast was decent, though, dull at times and not varied, which made us crave something new after having had it there for ten days. What I was looking forward most, was the restaurant we went to for lunch and dinner - Filiber. The food was simply delicious with signature dishes from the chef. It made the hefty sums we paid bearable. I especially liked the new interpretation of Pavlova dessert. Other guests blamed the kitchen for being unstable: one day it exceeded their expectations and the other their favourite dishes were almost spoilt. We were lucky enough to never experience the latter. Unfortunately, all the great advantages of this hotel were overthrown by a huge drawback - the sea. Or, rather, the sea and the journey there. The website tells you it is 400 metres to the sea, which turns out to be about 2.5 km on foot or 10 minutes by the hotel's shuttle bus, which did not run regularly. Besides, the cars were too small to take all the passengers on board, which made people nearly fight for a place. The beach was not private and was crowded. The shade zone was too narrow and the sunbeds had to stand too close to each other. This also provoked lots of disagreement between the guests. The sunbeds provided were simply plastic, not really comfortable to lie on. There were not enough mattresses and some people even reserved them in case other guests leave earlier. The beach itself has little to do with bounty image. A huge observatory nearby, an abandoned factory on the right and wild rocks on the left. Stones, rocks and pebbles - it was not a big pleasure getting in and out of water. I suppose I swam about 5 times in total. To sum the things up, I would say that it is a great location for a short getaway to unwind and recharge your batteries. More than that, the spot is not far from the main tourist attractions: palaces and Yalta. On the other hand, if your main desire is to spend all your time swimming and resting on the beach,I am afraid you will be disappointed. Anyway, had it been better value for money, I do think we could have turned a blind eye to many its downsides. For now, Bluebay Resort is an overpriced accommodation, which is popular with people just because there is little else to choose from.…
Blue Bay is a cute small Villa like hotel, as seen on the picture,Perfect location and only one hotel we would stay in travelling to Crimea in a future.Rooms are spacios and sleeping quality is good! Breakfasts are decent , food is average, but anywhere in crimea food is average, so not to be picky on this one..most important challange is a service, but here as well we won't be picky since in all crimea you do not look for 5 star service, if you get 3 star then be happy just 15 min walk from hotel , down between the rocks there is a " nude beach hidden between the rocks" , its indeed beautiful to swim between the rocks and lagunes! amazingly clean water and peace and quiet The area is Gay friendly, the city used to be Gay resport in Soviet times and would attract gay tourists, the trend continues.. We will definitly stay there again with their pluses and minues, more pluses I would say…
