The owners were very courteous, and we got a beach towel for each of us. The beach is not in view, but a small walk away. They worked hard at keeping the beach clean, and the water was awesome, as I could have spent all day jumping the waves. Loved the service from the bar/restaurant. What’s better than having a drink delivered to your beach lounger? Food was good. The power is off from 10:00-11:30 just so you know, but was not a problem for us beach lovers. I would definitely stay there again.
This is not “Paradise” hotel. It is a very basic back packer hostel charging high hotel rates and simply not worth the money. They even charge for WiFi in the hotel bar. Add the ants in the bathroom and the rudimentary rooms and it is a bad choice of hotel. The beach is also in a terrible condition. Without a pool the hotel therefore has very very little to offer. Zero food and drink available after 6pm at the weekends. There are lots of brilliant, characterful and great value hotels in Mexico. This is definitely not one of them. Very very disappointing stay and unhelpful management. Avoid!
We are a British couple visiting the Yucutan for a 3 week holiday. We have a hire car & week one of our holiday was spent travelling around visiting Mayan ruins, cenotes & Yucutans colonial towns Merida & Campeche- So we were ready to relax & plonk ourselves on a beach for week number 2! El Paraiso did not dissapoint- We had pre booked our room back in April as it only has 12 rooms ( I think). The rooms are very comfortable- great beds & equipped with satellite TV, fridge, air con, kettle & private bathroom. Our room also had a lovely shaded terrace with table & chairs. The hotel grounds are immaculately kept by a team of friendly Staff & the rooms spotlessly cleaned daily also.Breakfast was included & was typically eggs/ breads/ yoghurt/ cereals/ fruit/ tea/ coffee.Reception Staff were helpful & the site had security Staff too. We were able to park our car a stone's throw from our room & it was quite secure the whole time. The palm fringed beach which was also a 30 second walk from our room was beautifully kept too as we had expected alot of sargassum/ seaweed to be present but they are on top of it and manage it really well here.Swimming in the sea was fine. There was no problem getting sun loungers with umbrellas every day at the beach club & the beach club staff were friendly & very attentive too.As a hotel resident there was no additional fee for sun loungers/ umbrellas. The beach club has a good menu serving food & drinks throughout the day and they will take/ deliver orders from your sun loungers-( food/ drinks you pay for). There is also changing rooms/ toilets/ showers.Beach loungers / club facilities can be rented/ used by non residents also and there are various fees for this.Tulum town is approx 6 km away and at the time of writing a taxi cost $M150 each way. There is a fabulous supermarket approx 4 km away also.lots of people hire push bikes but the road out is quite dark so we didn't fancy doing that at night.Tulum ruins are approx 1.5 km from El Paraiso & definitely worth visiting- Go early to beat crowds-they open at 8 am.We would definitely stay at El Paraiso again & would recommend it if you are looking for a laid back relaxed vibe.…
Had the beach and ocean (this hotel's prime amenity) been usable, I could consider giving it three stars. The sargassum is a terrible problem right now, and unless you are willing to Wade through piles of this stuff, as it rots on the beach, you will not make it to the water. The breakfast that is served by the side of the hotel is a far cry from what is offered at the on-site restaurant. Expect nothing more than store-bought pastries, fruit, etc. Occasionally, eggs will be served. We were thankful to have found many off-site activities to enjoy (cenotes, sanctuaries, Coba, etc), and the room was always spotless and tidy when we'd arrive back in the evening. Expect the generator to be off for two hours each day (though they claim it's for only one hour), and don't expect much from this hotel in terms of quality, service, and so forth.…
We booked the Hotel as it was described, a Beach Hotel with white sand. The Sand was White but the Beach was full of Sea Grass, a horrible experience and smelly, we never been able to swim in the Ocean. NOW why would someone book A BEACH HOTEL if you can't enjoy the Beach? The smell was Horrible and they said they work every day, what we saw was, they work few hours, they gather it in Pile on the beach and left it there, I have taken lots of pictures and videos too. Both the Hotel and BOOKING.COM are responsible to tell the customer about this situation. they just care about the money only. Breakfast needs lots of improvement and its not Continental as they said. The room was OK, lots of bugs in our cocky basket and inside the cocky they provide too.
