We stayed at a hotel down the road and found oursevles eating at Teetotum most of the time. Lovely staff, great service and great food. Everything is always available (you go tp other restaurants and they say they have run out of items). The food and produce is fresh and so well cooked and presented. Highly recommend the breakfast burrito (should be for two people!) and the tacos - best we had in Tulum! Such a lovely relaxed atmosphere too.

My friends and I stayed at Teetotum hotel over NYE holiday week. We didn't decide to go to Tulum until fairly last minute and found that most places on the beach were either booked, too expensive, or had bad reviews. We were at first a little bummed but decided to book at Teetotum after reading the rave reviews. We were not disappointed! We really had the best time staying there. The location is great because it's walking distance to the town and a bike ride away from the beach. We walked to the beach a few times and it was doable but did take a little bit of time. We are three female travelers and we felt safe the entire time! We walked everywhere during the day and at night. The staff at Teetotum could not be nicer or more welcoming. They arranged taxi rides for us, helped us figure out our NYE plans, made great cocktails, gave us recommendations on where to eat, etc. Seriously a phenomenal place. I hope to stay here again one day!

Teetotum is the best of Tulum. Chic, minimal, hip decor, perfectly located midway between the beach and town. Incredible staff. Great breakfast, happy hour, best fish tacos anywhere in the world! The kitchen prepares fresh meals daily with love. Refreshing smoothies, coffees, house made granola, local specialties, a perfect menu for breakfast, lunch, dinner. Cool off in the lush courtyard or in the plunge pool on your way to the beach and back! Great bar features Mezcal, international beers, and hand crafted cocktails. Made to order guacamole is so refreshing apres playa. Rooms face the courtyard garden, surrounded by lush vegetation. Garden view, private bath, premium linens, moderne decor, king size bed, air conditioner, safety deposit box, Bluetooth dock and complimentary Wi-Fi round up the amenities for these well-appointed large loft like rooms. Could stay forever! Xoxo

My husband and I spent the first leg of our week-long honeymoon at Teetotum, and I was sad to leave after three nights. The hotel is located at the northern end of Tulum's busy central district, and though its on a fairly busy road, once you're in the hotel the location feels quiet. (It's on the road that heads east to the beaches, right on a bike path, and Teetotum allows you to borrow bikes at no cost!) It takes 10 min or so walking to get from the hotel to the busier downtown area with more restaurants, bars, and shops. The room was comfortable, quiet, clean, and cool (AC unit worked great). We had an issue with our shower draining the first night, but after we notified the owner, he had it fixed the following morning. The owner was also responsive to emails leading up to the trip, which was helpful for planning! The owner and folks working at the restaurant/bar provided a lot of information about excursions, other restaurants, and what to expect for costs- taxis, buses, cenotes, mezcal... The hotel is located more or less across the street from the large grocery store Super Chedraui, which was great for getting lower-cost food and drink for breakfast and lunches on the go. That said, the food at Teetotum was awesome- we had several meals there. We also enjoyed hanging out in the outdoor spaces- courtyard, rooftop area, and plunge pool were all great. We were very happy with our stay. Thanks, Richard, for all of your candid and straightforward advice!

No it's not. A delicious breakfast of fruit, toast, coffee and juice is included in the price. The hotel menu has dishes for dinner that are approximately 180 pesos. You probably wouldn't eat all your meals at this hotel because you'll be out exploring
