It is A LOT of fun staying at this awesome hostel. They have entertainment every single night and the breakfast is super nice (pancakes, eggs, french toast, juice, youghurt and some more things). They have a free ride to the best beach in Tulum. The staff is very nice. This is a party hostel BUT you get your good night...

I met the most amazing people here and traveled with them for days. The food and booze deals are fantastic, the system the hostel has is great. The beds, cleanliness, and facilities are all subpar, but I would stay there again in the heartbeat just for the fun times had.

I love the Weary Traveler- hands down one of the best hostels I've ever experienced! The atmosphere is extremely open, friendly and inviting, the staff are always smiling and helpful, the kitchen is well equipped for big feasting, always super traveler oriented and a hub of activity in Tulum. I have met so many amazing people and always felt like...

We stayed there for 4 nights. Met some awesome people as you all sit around the communal table. Free bus to the beach which is great. Bit noicey at night but if you have ear plugs they will do the job. We didn't mind that there was 6 beds in a tiny room, but our shower had no pressure only...

Great place, they have a superb set up where people are forced to meet around the communal dining table - always fun & games.

I don't often stay in inexpensive hostels, but for young people and backpackers this one is pretty great. It's very inexpensive and also provides some things that will save you even more money - (cook it yourself) breakfast, free wi-fi, bus to the beach. Has a cool bar on the back patio where you enter your drink order on a...

This is a great place to stay and meet travellers. They also have free transport to the beach daily. It is like the melting pot in Tulum for backpackers. The atmosphere is very conducive. However, the room needs improvement. Putting 6 beds in a tiny room is too cramped. There is hardly any space to breathe not to mention having...

We stayed in the Weary Traveler twice and liked it very much. It has a nice and big communal space, with the best kitchen and kitchen supplies ever. Pasta and rice are free to use, and other things are available (like oil, spices, etc, ...) For dinner, you could do your own barbecue, which is a lot of fun. Free...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Weary Traveler Hostel Tulum was started by backpackers for backpackers back in the year 2000. The hostel was built around what they themselves wanted to find in a good hostel when they were traveling. A good social vibe A book exchange A bar with backpacker prices Communal Kitchen (loaded with free spices, salt, pepper) Full Cook Your Own Breakfast Free Rice, Pasta and lentils for dinner Good Advice on Tours and Activities Some aspects of the Weary Traveler Hostel Tulum appear to be unique but they are not. Many of them came from other hostels where we had stayed long before we dreamed of opening a hostel in Tulum. For example the Burn Your Own BBQ was inspired by the Bondi Beach Hotel's incredible steak barbi setup inside the bar. Huge, beautiful cuts of beef were in a display fridge that was part of the bar. You would say, "Yeah, give me that one!" and huge chunk of raw red meat came at you on a platter. It was your job to cook it how you wanted it. The Weary Traveler Hostel Tulum has changed, evolved, gone back to our roots and changed again and again over the years. We have always tried to evolve as a hostel, stay ahead of the competition and anticipated the changing needs and desires of our guests. So welcome to The Weary Traveler Hostel Tulum, mi casa es su casa! John, one of the originals from way back when. ... more   less
