The hotel was fully booked so we stayed somewhere else, but ended up going to Ahau almost everyday to enjoy the beach, great food and their fabulous parties. The production that goes into each and every event is almost unbelievable! We felt like we are visiting a brand new place each time with different decorations, stages and beautiful live shows and dancers. Specially the new year’s eve dinner and party until sunrise was one to remember
Unfortunately the hotel was fully booked when I was in Tulum so I can’t say anything about the hotel. The beach club however, I visited 9 days in a row. The beach, the beds, the drinks and the food (the ceviches and shrimps are yum!) and the free parking place are outstanding but best of all is the staff. They are all so kind, even to people who don’t stay in the hotel like me. Hostesses Edith and another lady who’s name I forgot made me feel so welcomed and appreciated as a returning customer and always found me a comfortable place. The waiters are so friendly and polite. Special thanks to Rafael and David. Next time in Tulum I definately come back and I recommend your place to everyone who loves to enjoy a relaxed day at the beach with great food and drinks. Thank you so much Ahau.…
I wish I could give Ahau 5 stars, almost everything was perfect with great staff, good location and a beautiful beachfront. Unfortunately the huts are two story, and when someone stays above you, you hear every word, every step, and every movement. To give you an idea, I can tell you the gentleman who stayed upstairs spends 6 minutes on the warm up and 3 minutes in the game if you catch my drift. The worst part is when their alarm goes off before 6am, and then just general movements sound like there is a workout class 5 feet above you, making sleep impossible. To clarify, we loved the hotel, the staff were some of the best we have ever experienced, we would just never book a room setup like this again.
We loved this hotel, its beach club is very comfortable, rooms are gorgeous and the view is just another whole thing! Service was excellent, since arrival we felt like home. The location takes 10/10! A must try!
Below is the email I sent to Ahau after our stay. And to top it off, I never received a response, extremely disappointed now. Ahau is not like it used to be, trust me, we have stayed there four times. And I read somewhere if you return, you get a discount, ummmm, we never received a discount for being a returning customer. I'm only writing this review because I never received a response. Ahau is a beautiful spot, just be sure you don't book the room we stayed in, unless you want to show the Raw Love customers a show. For the price you pay to stay there, their room description needs to be much more CLEAR. Below is what I emailed Ahau ... Ahau Family, Our stay was my family's fourth time, and I have to say, we were a bit disappointed. If you check all our reservations under Villalobos, you will see we have stayed in all the type of rooms you have on the property, with the exception of the private house on the beach. The room that was given to us is a beautiful room inside, and like the others, BUT the room location is HORRIBLE! Here is a list of why we felt it was; 1. Right in front facing Raw Love. No way we could walk in our room naked, or sit on the toilet with the blinds open, all the customers could see us. I understand all rooms are close together, and people can easily see in the rooms while passing by, but they are PASSING BY, not sitting at tables looking up. Hearing the blenders from Raw Love making juices was so not peaceful. 2. Workers from Raw Love and the little shop, sit on the stairs going up to the room. It was getting so annoying when they would look frustrated that they had to get up so we could walk up the stairs to our room. 3. There was no light outside our door like all the other rooms have, and it was so dark climbing up the stairs at night very unsafe. 4. The straw door across from the room, whomever stays in that room, the door was ALWAYS open and viewing that mess on that balcony every time we left and returned to our room, was unsettling! I felt I was in the ghetto part of Ahau! 5. We constantly could hear employees walking up the stairs at night and talking, sooo uncalming! 6. Every early morning we could hear something like a metal detector? Over and over and over again! Ugh!!! The best part of our stay was beach service, and the gal that checked us in. She was extremely sweet and very helpful! She has 2 dogs, Nacho and the other is named some Spanish word. BUT the gal that checked us out was a bit snobby, but I chalked it up as her being young and inexperienced. You can take my recommendation or not, but I recommend Ahau should not book that room to other customers. And if you do, please be clear on the description of location and let them know it's the least peaceful room at Ahau. Customers are paying $ to stay there. It honestly took me some time to think about writing this, and it breaks my heart to. Much love, Villalobos Familia…
