This hostel seems to be a good value for Tulum. Location is at a major junction, not really charming, but handy to explore the ruins, cenotes and beach if you have a bike. Rooms are surprisingly spacious, clean, with AC and rather intimate as for a dorm (5 beds only with attached bathroom). But the absolute deal-breaker is the bar...

The place was great, the rooms are big enough, the beds are sooooo comfortable i wish i could bring one back home. It is 3,5 km from the beach but if you rent a bike or have enough time to walk it is easily done, the city center is just around the corner, the restaurants and supermarker are close too!

I really enjoyed my stay at Chalupa hostel. The pool was great and the mezcal bar upstairs was a lot of fun. There were plenty of other backpackers to meet and some locals in the bar. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The AC is limited from 9pm to 9am but if your in your room all day there is...

We had a great stay at Hostal Chalupa which is located right on the main road to the beach, to the Tulum Maya ruins, Gran Cenote and Tulum Centrum. The staff was fun, friendly and helpful and the hostel felt very social with large communal areas and a bar upstairs. Supermarkets were close by and there would always be taxis...

We stayed in a private room which was actually more like a hotel room than a hostel room: really big room with two double beds and private bathroom. The room was clean and the shower had hot water. There are lockers in the room. They have vans in the room and air conditioning (pretty loud) during the night starting at...

I do NOT recommend this hostel. You might get sucked in with the nice room, and the pool on entrance. But the male staff member had the WORST attitude I have ever come across. It is not only expensive, but they run a pub upstair all night. They won't let you turn the air conditioner on before 9 pm -...

Were staying in a 6 bed dorm with enough space for our things and wide beds, mattresses a bit worn in the middle but big enough to find yourself a good spot. Spacious bathroom per dorm. Big and clean kitchen - one of the best I've come across. Free water and breakfast - just coffee and cereal but always a...

We were so impressed with this hostel! Large comfy double beds -we wanted to stay here longer! You can get to the ruins and the beach easily on a bike (rent nextdoor) if you get a free map from the hostel and ask for directions. The only downside was that you can't cook meat in the kitchen maybe if we...

This was a bit of an odd one. On first sights quite a decent looking hostel. Nice big beds (can comfortably sleep with a partner and save money), big lockers each, and decent bathroom. Big kitchen to cook meals on (only vegetarian) and v close to 2 supermarkets, so eating is cheap! Nice communal area with pool downstairs too. Dislikes-...

Large room with two double bed, noisy but effective air con, good location for ruins, beach and town. Bonus- it has a pool! Staff were friendly and helpful and a basic breakfast was provided. Would definitely stay here again.
