Absolutely loved our stay here. Right on the beach in a beautiful modern beach hut. Beautiful room with outdoor shower. Great restaurant, friendly service. In a national park with beautiful white sand and gorgeous blue water. In the evenings it’s super quiet due to this. Could walk to Tulum ruins. Too far to walk to the hotel strip with all the restaurants but we had a car and drove and just paid for parking. Beautiful spot and highly recommend.
I moved to Tulum a year ago from NY and have been to many places on the beach but Kai is special! Its picturesque and charming decor set against the backdrop of the beautiful Caribbean Sea is just pure magic. Add in their pancakes, grilled tuna, or vegetarian wrap and you’re in heaven. And while many places here in Tulum have great food what also sets Kai apart is its service! Thanks to Sophia, Bety, and Santos for taking such great care of us while we were there! I will be back for sure! Ciao!
* Pre-arrival * Great service, Hector (Experience Manager) reached out to us weeks in advance to book transportation and prepare for arrival * Arrival and check in * We chose to let Hector handle the shuttle booking and we’re so glad we did. As anyone who has flown into an airport in Mexico can attest, it can be a madhouse once you leave baggage claim with so many people soliciting you for taxis, shuttle, activities, tours, etc.! * All my wife and I had to do was keep pushing forward until we saw our driver holding a sign with our name. * On arrival to the property, there was a small mixup with the type of room we were expecting but Antonio and Hector got us straightened out. My motto is, “It’s not what happens, it’s how you handle it that counts with me.” They promptly got it resolved. * Bedroom and living space * We really loved the bohemian style of the villa. The king bed was so comfortable, there was plenty of storage, and the covered large outdoor front deck had a large day bed and 4-chair table. * The furniture was modern and still felt new, since as we later found out, Kai is one of the owners newest properties. * Bathroom likes/dislikes * It’s mostly an open floor plan, but the vanity sink and mirrors are behind a wall. There’s a pretty large shower that almost looks like you’re outside surrounded by trees for privacy, however it actually is enclosed and well designed. * Front desk service/help/issue resolution * I can’t say enough, just how helpful and responsive Hector was during our weeklong stay. He had excellent recommendations on restaurants (try BAK Steakhouse by the way, was incredible!) and made everything super easy to book, down to the taxi. * Restaurant food and service * My wife and I were actually surprised how good the food was at the in-house restaurant. We’ve stayed at resorts where the food was twice as much since they have you captive, and half as good. * Property and location likes/dislikes * The location worked out really well since once we traveled south to the main strip of beach hotels and restaurants we found that area super busy, noisy, and streets crowded with traffic. If you want to party you’ll definitely find one here, but we were so happy our resort wasn’t next to all the noise. * Kai does sit on a public beach, but as long as you get out by 10:00’ish, there are much less people and it’s pretty quiet until about 1:00 or so. Even then, I’ve been on beaches in the States where it was beach towel to beach towel and there was much more room here— even for Dec high season. * Privacy comfort and quiet * Our villa was one row back from the beach and we really liked that it felt pretty private on the property. * Check out * Check out was a breeze and Hector got us set up with the shuttle back to Cancun to fly out. * Overall * We will definitely come back to Kai and muchos kudos goes out to Hector taking such good care of us!…
Went to the beach side restaurant and had a great time. Food was great and the service was quick and well-recieved. Sofia and Bety were awesome and very respectful. Overall,I would suggest this place to a close friend and cant wait to return.
Amazing beach side lunch at Kai. Meet with Sofia and you’ll be taken care of ! She has amazing recommendations. Guacamole, fish of the day, and drinks. The view and white sand is a must see while in Tulum
"I would actually opt for a non-sea view room as it was quieter and you are only a short walk from the beach anyway."Read full review
