Verena, the director of the hotel, offered the best customer service experience I have ever gotten on a trip (and I travel monthly all over the world) Ezekiel, the concierge, was also a great resource for my stay. They answered all of my questions abdouttl tulum very patiently and thoroughly. Would highly recommend staying at the hotel to all of my family and friends.

This hotel is not in a great place. The little bay collects the dreaded seaweed, we had 6 nights here and we could never swim on this beach. The hotel is expensive drinks and food are double the price of other places. The rooms and pool are nice. Looking at this hotel from the sea you should stay in the long beach to the left, that is a great location. On the whole Tulum is over priced and not really worth it. The Pacific coast was great!!

Dear Ishtown, We are sorry to read this comment. We are also sorry the hotel did not meet your expectations. Unfortunately, the seaweed is an ongoing problem that affects Riviera Maya area; but it is something that is not as common. Despite our best efforts to maintain the beach clean, we can see that sometimes is not enough. Regarding the cost of staying with us, eating and drinking; we feel that the cost vs. product is really reasonable compare to a lot of places around the area. Our staff makes the best effort to provide the best service possible from housekeeping, maintenance, front desk & concierge to management and this adds value to our hotel. Regarding your comment on Tulum not been worth it and overprice, Tulum is an amazing place, but it is not for everybody. Kind Regards, Marcos J. Morales Concierge Maria del Mar

Stayed here for a few nights while visiting Mexico. Not knowing much about Mexico or Tulum we were unsure what to expect there. However, we were pleasantly surprised upon our arrival to Maria del Mar. It is a small boutique hotel with a few buildings/rooms surrounding the pool and facing the sea. The rooms are clean, in good repair and good size. They have a small restaurant that serves simple but tasty options - they also made sure to stock up on gluten free bread knowing one of us was intolerant. :) The front of house guys made sure we were well looked after. They knew their stuff about the restaurants and tours available to tourists. The concierge went well out of his way to make sure we got onto a tour that was delayed by a traffic accident and could not make it to our hotel for pickup. All in all it was a wonderful stay. I'd return here any time with no hesitation.

We stayed at Maria del Mar for six nights and we had a wonderful time from start to finish. We arrived slightly before check in time and the wonderful concierge Ezequiel took us to a sun lounger to relax whilst we had some drinks from the neighbouring restaurant. He then took us to see the various spots (veranda etc) and Angela the resident spa therapist welcomed us too. The room was ready early which was fantastic and the room was beautifully decorated. As much as we loved the facilities, the pool and the veranda (great to sit out at night), the staff were the stand out. They were happy to help us with recommendations for food, days out, and the lovely receptionist was kind enough to help us book a car hire which she handled end to end. Thank you to Ezequiel and all the wonderful staff for making us feel so welcome and taking care of us. It felt very personal -I think every staff member greeted us by name. We would love to come back!

Hola! Yes, jungle view has a king size bed. Unfortunately, this type of suite does not have separate beds, the view from the room is to the street side. If you are looking to have an ocean view you need to book a partial sea view on the second floor of the property.
