We stayed in a beachfront suite with direct ocean access. The property is expansive and provides each guest with a personal bicycle and has cart shuttles available for getting around. After check in you are taken by boat across the resort lagoon to your room.
Such a unique place in a special setting! We were wowed from the moment we stepped foot onto the resort and traveled to our bungalow down the picturesque lagoon… we saw adorable turtles and heard beautiful birds calling - it’s almost easy to forget how close the ocean is and all of the beauty that goes along with the beach, when surrounded by such a lush jungle environment; truly the best of all worlds when it comes to grounds of this resort! Colorful & fragrant flowers, natural stone, gorgeous architecture and an overall design aesthetic that is cohesive, natural, clean and beautiful. This was my third time visiting and I will be returning many more times! In addition to the beautiful surroundings - the service is bar none! The staff not only anticipate every one of your needs, but they do an amazing job at anticipating your wants, as well (with small touches like placing a cool bookmark in the books you leave out or leaving a lens cloth by your sunglasses)! Communicating with your butlers via the app was easy and they always met us during the day to check in. The food is perfectly plated and incredibly delicious and we felt educated about the origins of each item. La Ceiba was especially fantastic and definitely an ‘experience’, not simply a meal. I will truly remember that night as one of the best meals of my life and a very special evening - definitely worth the price!…
This is hands down the best resort in the world that I have ever been to. I've traveled to dozens of countries and tried many Rosewood, Four Season and other high end properties and this is the top one. We opted for them to give us a ride back and forth from the airport and the magic starts then. Caesar met us just outside the airport and whisked us over to our brand new Escalade where Aaron was waiting with doors open and cold towels, cold water and cold coronita's waiting inside. The drive was 40 Minutes and the Amazing Aaron even stopped to let us pick up some snacks, and some other room munchies. It was election day so we couldn't buy any beer or tequila, but that was OK because Aaron treated us like family members taking care of us. I can't even explain how special it was the "above and beyond" service he enjoyed providing. Thank you Aaron! Arriving at the resort, we were greeted by several of our friends (staff members) who felt more like family members as this was our 10th time coming to this resort over the last 10 years. Jose Maria and Christian greeted us with open arms and a cool refreshing drink. It's like seeing old friends and after a quick catch up on the last year, we jumped in the little boat that took us to our suite. There is art, wildlife and beauty everywhere on the grounds of this large resort. The trees, walkways and grass are all meticulously manicured. Our room was immaculately cleaned and there was a beautiful welcome amenity of a Oaxacan Mezcal that was delicious and refreshing. As repeat guest, I can tell you that every time we come, the welcome gifts and amenities surprise us and keep getting better. The housekeeping staff remembered requests we had made in previous years and we had fresh half and half for the coffee, limes to cut up for beers and a fresh fruit bowl with peaches, nectarines and banana's that was refreshed twice daily. Our main housekeeper Dorian kept the room in perfect condition and even left me some sun balm one day when I got a little too much sun. Our butlers, Yes 2 butlers, were available for any special needs and both Jaime and Ivan spoiled us with attention, even though we really didn't need much from them. They checked in every day and made sure we had reservations and everything else we needed. We went to the beach and pool area every day and planted ourselves in the sand right by their "food truck" in the Aqui Me Quedo area of the resort. Diego the manager stopped by to say hi as we knew him over the last three years as our server but he recently got promoted within the resort. Our new server named Luis was the absolute best. He didn't bother us but instead anticipated when we would need something and just magically showed up. We always had cold water and ice buckets and when we would order food he made recommendations and after the first day he remembered that I like a particular black ash habanero sauce and I never had to ask again, it was always on our chips and salsa platter. On the last day he spoiled me with some roasted Havana peppers (hotter than Habanero) with our fish tacos. So awesome. We were also spoiled by a new amenity ever few hours, like ceviche, sunglass cleaning and even the new Coconut O'clock where they give everyone a fresh cut coconut filled with coconut water. they added rum to mine too, very fun. They have a new bar experience called Zapote Bar, just voted one of the top 50 bars in North America, where we ate dinner one night and met our new most favorite server Fernando. The cool thing was that when we went back a couple of days later, Fernando saw us and said he would take care of us, wherever we sat. We grabbed a spot at the bar and were joined be some friends we had met years ago at the same resort. We were spoiled even more by the resort director, Mr. Daniel Scott, who checked in on us and then stayed with us through happy hour. Then they announced the bar had just won the top 11 spot on the list and everyone cheered and we all had a complimentary shot of Mezcal. It was like we were part of the family! There were so many more awesome people we met and spent time with. I wish I could list them all but I'm out of room! I must say though that the guest relations people, Nacho and Sylvia were also regularly checking in with us to make sure we had everything we needed. Mr. Scott has created an amazing family like resort that welcomes you in like part of their family. I think you really need to just slow down while you are there and talk to the amazing staff when you can, they make you feel good inside and out. We're definitely going back many more times, and have already booked our next week there in November for Dia De Los Muertos. Muchos Gracias to everyone who made our week there so special.…
My husband and I just returned from an incredible stay at the Rosewood. Despite a few service hiccups at the beach (waited some time one day for towels and water), incredible and amiable service from Nacho (a real gem) and our friendly butler Jamie more than made up for it. The litmus test for a five star hotel is a property that seems to anticipate one's needs before they are needed. It is safe to say that the aloe gel appearing in our room one day, a cheese plate arriving on another, and even a "make your own root beer float" amenity not only anticipated our needs before we thought of them. They surpassed the test by making them personal to us! Other personal touches included meeting chefs at dinner who made custom tastings and proper turndowns (replete with folded clothes and bed mats). As a note, we were upgraded to a lovely over-water lagoon suite. We liked it better than the original room we booked in the beach area since we didn't have neighbors sharing a wall with us or on top of us. We saw some other over-water lagoon suites that seem to have had views into other rooms. Hence, if privacy is important, you might want to make specific room requests. We can't wait to come back!…
We have been to many resorts around the world but keep coming back to Rosewood Mayakoba, 10 years and counting. With out a doubt, the best service we have experienced anywhere. They do everything possible to make your stay an incredible experience - paying close attention to detail, remembering all of your likes and preferences. Every single employee is empowered to make decisions on the spot, and they do. Frequently going above and beyond your expectations. The staff is warm and friendly and a key reason we keep coming back. I do not think we have heard a "no" in all the years we have come here. Rosewood's favorite expression is "welcome home". Here they truly mean it.
My wife and I traveled to the Rosewood Mayakoba to celebrate our 20th anniversary. From arrival to departure this resort does it right. We participated in all the wonderful experiences including the Mexican grill night, La Ceiba garden dinner and the Sabores de Baja night. All were fantastic. We also did a private boat dinner in the lagoon and that was magical. Bike riding around the property and around Maykoba was a delight. The property is gorgeous, the SPA is heavenly, and the staff were wonderful but what really sets the property apart from other top notch properties around the world is service (and the FOOD). It is genuine, it is abundantly available and as one of the managers said to a guest, "we always do the right thing". We missed our flight on memorial day due to heavy rain, significant traffic and a delay with transportation and the representative at the airport made one call, took us to the next awaiting escalade and took us back to the resort as if we had newly arrived and offered us once again a beachfront suite COMPLIMENTARY as if we never left. The next day they took us back to the airport and helped us all the way until we reached security. We just loved this place! Thank you to all the staff, managers, butlers, beach attendants, spa staff... etc... 5 stars in every way!…
The attention to every detail at this property is remarkable. I have also traveled all over the world and have been fortunate enough to stay at some of the worlds best resorts and I have to say that the Rosewood Mayakoba property is among the very best. The staff puts in every effort to make you feel at home. The amenities are plentiful and the thoughtfulness they put into taking care of and anticipating your every need is remarkable. Please share our deepest thanks with the staff.
Best place I have every traveled to! The accommodations were amazing, hospitality incredible, food was delicious! I have traveled all over the world and this is now my favorite vacation spot! Will be going again soon. They take care of your every need and make your trip special!
The service we received was exceptional. It was my 2nd time back to RWMayakoba and this time I brought the entire family. It was the first time experience for my parents and sister. Edgar @ La Fondita was so friendly, introduced the staff & gave us a warm welcome. Miguel at SENSE SPA was exceptional, the best massage experience I have ever had. He was intuitive and listened. Maria Jose was such a pleasure to dine w/ @ La Ceiba and she is a lovely person. Jose Maria was very attentive to my sister's needs who is in a wheelchair so accessibility was a big item of concern for us but he was on top of it from the moment of our arrival! He provided a cup holder, had a chair set up for our dinner @ La Ceiba and was overall extremely helpful. Eduardo is always such a pleasure, I met him with my brother last year and it was great to see him at Aqui me Quedo. Rafa provided us with exceptional service during our dining at Aqui me Quedo/ Punta Bonita & Silvia who spoke at La Ceiba dinner was so friendly, funny and an absolute pleasure. It was a truly unforgettable experience. They made us feel like family.…
We've been to Rosewood Mayakoba several times and they never fail to impress us. Their service is just impeccable. Food quality is fantastic, and we always feel every penny we pay is absolutely worth it. Keep up the good job!
