My trip was booked a little last minute and after reading some reviews, I was skeptical and didn't know what to expect. The transition from the plane to the transportation was smooth and the staff on the bus were comical and exceptional. Once I arrived at the hotel, the Bellmen were absolutely a pleasure. Thank you Rafael, Diego, Israel, Cristion to name a few. The grounds were kept in perfect condition and the staff were extremely diligent. The bar tenders were also amazing and very talented! Thank you Alex! The staff and food in the restaurants blew my mind. Thank you Edgar, and the many others that made my stay extremely memorable. Everyone is loving and pleasant. The entertainment was absolutely amazing and I wish them all the best, I would highly recommend this resort! **there were some concerns about the seaweed on the beach, I can attest that the staff are VERY diligent regarding the removal and the beach can be enjoyed.

I will be writing down all the points:- The most important thing about this resort is that it is not a five-star resort. It is a three star or less. The rooms are not clean, and the cleaners are short staffed, so what they try to do is skip cleaning a few things in the room. Service is very slow. They advocate for room service etc. but the minimum wait time for anything is one hour. If you’re three people sharing in a room, forget getting three towels or three soaps or any of such services. They will purposely give you very less toiletries to use. We were three people in the same room, and we had to use one hand soap for the whole week. When we ask them for extra toilet paper or tissue boxes etc. they told us that oh we gave you some yesterday so you don’t need some today. Another thing we noticed is that they did not provide room service in terms of cleaning a room for one whole day. So when we left the resort to go to the city to look around, and when we came back at 10 PM, we were surprised to see our rooms were not done. When we requested our rooms to be done and cleaned up, they only gave us a few towels. I have a feeling they must’ve done this with almost everybody in the resort at least once a week so that it may just look like as though it has happened by mistake that one time and that way they save time and money. Another important thing to note here is for Sunwing passengers. Do not take the early morning flight, because you may feel that Sunwing has prepared this entire trip for you with the resort inclusive, however this is not true because even if you reach at 10 AM, they will never give you the room till 3 PM. So flying early in the morning deprives you of your sleep anyways, and then you have to wait till 3 PM to get a room and get cleaned up. In regards to the entertainment it’s very repetitive and very boring. The first two days were Kinda OK, but then the next 4 to 5 days were terrible in terms of entertainment that they provide every day. It’s one hour long and they have Mexican dance, Michael Jackson night, 70s themed dances etc. but it’s very boring because you see the same four dancers everywhere. The beaches of my Riviera I’m not good at all because in the summer time seaweeds Are everywhere and nobody was in the water. I have been to five star resorts before and this is not a five-star resort. It’s a 2.5 star resort and you don’t get the same kind of service that a five star gives. Food was OK as well, nothing too fancy nothing great. It was mediocre. It felt as though there was McDonald’s served every single night with some roast chicken and salads. Nothing fancy at all for a so-called five-star resort. In regards to the spa, we tried the massage as they were offering 50% off for the first massage. The massage wasn’t good at all and extremely overpriced . I don’t think the ladies are very good at it because I had to leave the next day and go to a different hotel in the city to get another massage. The restaurants are a little bit better than the Buffet but the service is so slow that you rather just go and pig out at the Buffet. Mind you that some of the restaurants will never do anything well done for you, so you will still get blood in your steak and your salmon will still be pink if you like that. I’m sure the people who work at the resort know a lot of English but they still act as though they do not speak a single word. Overall it was just very mediocre. Very short staffed, room service wait time is about an hour, food is mediocre and the beaches were very ugly. I think this resort is for people who don’t like food, but love drinking and getting wasted without having a care in regards to whether their rooms are going to be cleaned or not or whether they are going to miss breakfast or lunch the next day.

So to begin with this is a beautiful place. I had the platinum deluxe with jacuzzi. The room was nice but not as clean as I saw on the website (of course, but it could have been a little more cleaner for luxury and the price) But anyways, I enjoyed the room and jacuzzi. I had high expectations for the food.. 1st time at an all inclusive. The food was 0 out of 10. Room service didn't respond or answer the phone Saturday night. I didn't get anything that was supposed to come with my princess benefits, but I didn't bother to ask because the food was so terrible. The pool was fun and the drinks were good and the property was nice. I'm from Texas an Ive been New Mexico and Mexico... I prefer the New one lol

Amazing place if you are not from USA or Canada, its like a Blackpool in Mexico, so sad to see people asleep on lounge beds at 10pm at night, and poor staff not able to wake the wankers up, disgusting how USA take the piss out of the Mexicans and think tipping a dollar here and there justifies their behaviour. Woman who are so karfe dressed like tarts!! The staff are great though

Amazing hotel. The food , people , location. It’s very much a tropical vibe. I loved it here. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. I would 110 percent come to stay at this hotel again. I’ve met a lot of wonderful people also. The beach is wonderful and the food that they serve on there.

Beautiful resort with excellent amenities. Deyzi at the pool went above and beyond to make our pool time special. Darinka took great care of us at breakfast and Bryan was excellent for lunch. I would definitely recommend this resort to friends.

We have recently in the past two days returned from this hotel unfortunately three of us that travelled all have food poisoning which we received from the Japanese restaurant the night before we left. Putting that aside for the moment let’s talk about the hotel, firstly the staff are absolutely outstanding happy and upbeat and for this I cannot fault any of them, from the Reception to the bar staff bellboys concierge Spa, I am at no point criticising them in any way shape or form. The hotel itself is very nice but if you take a careful look at the decor it’s extremely tired. We booked two rooms on this holiday and my room was a deluxe with Jacuzzi the room was nicely sized , but as I stated earlier on very tired wood chips on the furniture poor finishes in the shower and the front door with about an inch gap with the door closed at the side ( please see in photos ) inside the shower the ceiling was roughly finished and it’s just not what you expect for paying a lot of money for a suppose five star hotel. The next thing is the beach in case your not aware Mexico suffers from extremely high levels of seaweed, when we arrived the seaweed was all over the beach probably about 4 foot high it took the teams about four to five days to clear most of it, when this was done we were happy and thought we can walk along the white sand and go and have a swim in the sea, totally wrong, the Sea at this hotel is covered in giant sharp rocks that go out for about 70 feet so you cannot walk into the sea, without cutting your feet to pieces, we actually saw an American group that I just arrived and were slightly intoxicated run straight out into the sea , as they hit the water the screamed out and both fell over and struggled to get out because there are only rocks to stand on, they both cut the bottom of his feet open, their feet were bleeding and both were in excruciating pain as you can imagine. None of this is mentioned when you book the hotel and you could see the disappointment in peoples eyes when they arrive and see and smelt it. The other problem was that this seaweed is constantly coming into shore so as you’re trying to relax on a sunbed by the sea there are teams of locals with rakes and tractors driving past you every 10 minutes with truckloads of smelly rotten seaweed and therefore flys, you can just imagine what that’s like I’ve put a picture of the truck that gets filled up and then emptied and when it comes back again the smell is absolutely disgusting and it was actually making people heave. We also had an experience with my son losing his all inclusive band that they put on your wrist when you arrive, we went to Reception to get a replacement and they tried to charge us US$80 for the privilege; I complained and made a fuss and they didn’t charge us, also on the last day, I saw an old gentleman at the reception had misplaced his key card for his room and they wanted to charge him $100 to give him another one. I think that’s totally outrageous. We also paid for a spa treatment for three of us I agreed the price in the spa signed the paperwork and I wanted to pay for it there and then and not have a charge to my room, we had to go to Reception to pay and the gentleman on the desk told me that they had given me the wrong rate and I had to pay more than the price originally stated, I then educated him on a signed a legal agreement document that has a price on it and I paid the price I agreed at the spa. This review might sound quite negative and that’s not what I want it to be, we enjoy the two weeks but there are things that people need to know before attending this hotel because I think the key to whether you go or not. The issue with the seaweed is all along Mexico on the Caribbean coast and not just this hotel, seaweed is a major issue in Cancun if you like clear white Sandy beaches go somewhere else.

Stayed at this hotel For 14 nights May-June 2022. Booked a swim up room and we were put in block 1 which is supposed to be the quiet block which it was on the whole. However this hotel is purely and simply a party hotel catering for American guests whose main purpose is to consume as much alcohol as possible as quickly as possible. British guests are given different coloured bands to every other nationality and we certainly don’t get the same quality of service as the rest. The service in the buffet restaurant is pretty much non existent if you’re British and we had to go to the plaza bar for coffee after breakfast. There are positives though, the Aroma restaurant is fabulous and the service in there was first class, but it was very quiet. The tepanyaki was good but the chefs wok side of the restaurant was even better and again the service was excellent but again it was quiet. The snack bar at the beach is good and the rotisserie chicken was excellent, the sister hotel is worth a visit, the snacks in the sports bar are good and the restaurant La Fleur was excellent. If a party atmosphere is what you want you’ll probably enjoy this hotel, if you want to relax then I’d advise you to book elsewhere.

It is my third visits to this resort. The food and staff services are still very good! The place is kept tidy and clean. The only problem is that in the summer months where tons of seaweed could come into the beach. I do understand that this is not the fault of the resort but they have lack of good equipment (there were no JCB or CAT earth removal equipment) to deal with large quantity of seaweed. Hiring 4 people and manually removing them using wheelbarrow is not practical at all. During my 7 days stay at the resort, only first 2 days is cleared of seaweed, the remaining 5 days is blocked by tons of seaweed due to lack of equipment. I saw many newcomer coming to the beach and were disappointed. Without the seaweed, the beach is not great at with tons of rock and stones. Many customers have to walk over to the sister resort for swimming. With tons of seaweed and the bad smells, the beach is unusable for days since they don't the right equipment. I stayed at other resort since Barcelo 1beach and they have the big equipment to handle the large quantity of seaweed during the summer months. Finally, my final rating is still 4 stars due to the great staff and services! But I have management of the resort could do something about the seaweed in the near future!

Dear wznpbg, Thank you for your loyalty visitng the resort. It's nice to know that you still enjoying the resort, specially the food and the service of our staff. Regarding the seaweed, we have a tractor in the area, but we are limited by the government using type JCB equipment, that's the reason we have persons removing manually most of them. We are reinforcing the system to remove the seaweed but the effectivity depends of the amount of the arrival. Thank you for staying with us and I hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you. Kind regards.

We have stayed in many resorts in Mexico and this one unfortunately has been the most overrated 5 star if you can call it that. We arrived early and decided to take a walk to check out the resort. It was clean but not sure when the resort was built but it is definitely showing it’s age. We ended up on the beach and the pictures they show in their resort pictures look nothing like what we saw. Seaweed went out at least 50 meters and they had a couple of staff piling it up using pitchforks into 1.5 meter high piles. You could smell the stuff rotting on the beach. If you had planned a beach wedding you would have left. We are not party people so chose one of the swim up suites in the quiet part of the resort. Pool was great with lots of attentive staff except the bar service was hit and miss. On Saturday they held a foam party in the main pool and we saw the bar staff only once and then again not after 2 pm. Our biggest disappointment was the rules with regard to the room. The mini bar is only stocked once a day and you can’t ask for things to changed. Neither of us drink soda so we asked to have the soda replaced with water, told yes they would do that. Never happened. They put two beer in the fridge, if you want more you have to walk to the pool bar or they will give you more but at a charge. The same for water. What All Inclusive charges for bottled water and beer. We got around the rule by ordering two bottles of water with our continental breakfast. You have two beach towels and my spouse left on on the chair outside and it appears a staff member removed it (left the chair clips) so we went to the front desk and the concierge told us that it was our fault the towel went missing and told us we are responsible and would be charged for it. A simple NOT was all she got from me. Overall the resort was nice but definitely not a five star. It’s not up to what we believe five star All Inclusive resorts are. It may work for the u dear thirty party crowd but not what we will accept. Needless to say we will not be back and will also advise our travel agent not to book people into the resort without first giving them the truth.
