We chanced upon Colibri whilst trying to escape from our already paid for horrendous experience at the Grand Mayan. It is cheap and cheerful, all staff were great, we had a basic bungalow that was slightly musty but perfectly clean. Hot water went out and we were offered an upgrade (which we declined) and the problem was duly fixed the...

After coming to Playa del Carmen for the last 10 years by far this Hotel is the place to stay. The location gets no better, the food from Lido Beach Restaurant is very good with reasonable prices. All the servers and staff people are very friendly and easy going. 3 rd time staying in this hotel and this time was...

Came here with a group of 3 girlfriends. We read the reviews about the noise. There was noise the first night, but then it wasn't bad. And if you have the door closed, it's not too bad. I had no issues. We loved the room. Was simple, very clean and had the Mexico feel - exactly what we like! Staff...

The Hotel is beautiful, right on the beach. The best of everything Playa has to offer. Right next to all the restaurants, 10th avenue, bars, shopping and if you want, Lido Bar inside the Hotel with the best drinks, food and staff you could ever imagine. The rooms are very comfortable, they are always clean, and the staff is ready...

We'd read all the TA reviews, knew it was budget and we'd noted the feedback about noise. We didn't heed the warnings and booked a full week at Colibri. There will never be at next time at Hotel Colibri Beach. The rooms are basic at best. Truly, the hardest most uncomfortable beds we've ever slept in. Combined with the noise...

Great place to stay if your trip is about getting drunk and the disco. Terrible place if you want to sleep or relax. The discos are right next door and SO loud that your heartbeat will begin to sync with the base and they don't stop the music til 5am. I wish I had booked a room somewhere else. Lido...

This was a very inexpensive vacation. Booking on Expedia with the flight made the cabana room $67 a night. The beach club offers buckets of iced beer 150 pesos and the U.S. Exchange rate was 14.25 to a dollar in Mexico. Can't beat $10.50 a bucket! The owners are on site too. Not a drop of rain. The hot water...

This place had an awesome location right on the beach, great service and such lovely people – especially the very friendly and full-of-helpful-advice Alex, who works in the breakfast beach cafe. He gave us a new tourist tip every morning! :-) However, the bed was extremely rickety and uncomfortable (all we had to do was breathe and it wobbled and...
