Small hotel with the best beach in Playa del Carmen. I had a first floor room with a small terrace. This made accessing the beach, pool, snack bar and pool bar a breeze. The hotel is small so you can get to everything within a few minutes (no golf carts, shuttles, etc). It’s in a gated community of Playacar and about a 2 mile walk to town. Too hot for my kids but if I was with just my husband I would have walked daily to town. The staff was friendly and helpful. The trapeze lesson was a fun experience for my girls and the kids club seemed great with those that had young children. The pool bar was great, ask for a Cuervo margarita. There was a little seaweed everyday at the waters edge, however it was quickly cleaned by staff each morning. Other hotels in the area did not clean up the seaweed, so this was appreciated. There were two items that disappointed me. 1.) This hotel sells a vacation club and has a members only section on the beach. This was the only area where chairs and sand area around them were cleaned daily. This area also had palapas and beach drink service. The non-member areas had sand all over the chairs. Rude guests would leave cigarette butts, glasses, food at the beach and would sit there for hours and even days in some cases. Given their concerns with COVID upon entry it surprised me this was a non-concern - not to mention bad for the beach. 2.) the buffet was pretty bad. I’m not sure if this has to do with COVID, limited staff and budget. The speciality restaurants were decent but you can only book two at a time and we found ourselves not being able to get in as they booked quickly each day. Overall, This is not a 5 star hotel, 3 at best with dated rooms/decor. You get what you pay for, and this was a great value for those looking for a small hotel with a great beach.…
Booked this hotel for 2 weeks to recover fro Surgery. I’ve been to playa 14 times. Have never stayed at Wyndham before now. Day 3 here. I booked a handicap accessible room. Upon arrival, I informed the desk that I was having surgery in town. Much cheaper than USA. Staff assured me that my wristband would be replaced if the hospital cuts it off before surgery. I had to stay overnight in the hospital due to complications in surgery (no fault of Dr.). When I came back to hotel with a giant blood drain, I asked my husband to take my wrist band to the front desk while I walked slowly making my way to the room. I checked with the valet man first to ensure this would be ok. I waived to the front desk staff as I went past them. Husband was in line with the hospital receipt and my old wristband. My husband waited 20 minutes in line, which is fine. I was back in the room by the time he was finished at the front desk. The staff, who literally just saw me go by carrying my own blood would not give my husband a wrist band for me. They informed him that I needed to go to the desk to get the wrist band. My husband told me the valet guy apologized to him. Since this is only day 3, I will update this as the weeks go by. The reason I booked this hotel is because I was impressed they had an accessible room. We were put in a different room, but the room we have is fine. On day one, our toilet didn’t flush and we had no hot water. I literally took a cold shower before surgery at 5am. They fixed it after coming back a couple of times. Next week, my friend is coming down to see me for a few days. It appears from the website that superior ocean view rooms are updated, so I booked her one of those rooms. I did this - not because a superior garden room wouldn’t be good enough for her - but because our bathroom door has so much mold, I’d be embarrassed to put her in a room like mine. I’ll let you know how things go. I’m kind of upset that they’re making me haul myself to the lobby after a complicated surgery for a wristband. I am not drinking alcohol on this trip. I am not eating at the restaurants either. Since I am wearing a contraption, I won’t be sweating in it at the beach either. I am literally the easiest guest ever - laying in my room with my blood drain asking for nothing except a wrist band exchange.…
The show was amazing, no mistakes and the animation team is very funny. Speciali the dancing queen. The best team is ximena's one. Liz, Alejandro, Jonathan, Isabel, Laura, Hugo, Alan, Emanuel, Fabio and Mauricio ♥️.

This was our second stay and hopefully not the last. We got the great deal with Expedia and for the money we paid this was the perfect value. The hotel has great layout. Everything is close and it feels very open and cozy. The room was very basic, but clean. TV programming was below basic for foreigners. There were three English news channels, one German and one French news channels, that's it. Thankfully we had good weather and did not stay in the room. Wi-Fi was BAD. The beach is beautiful. I wish they provide umbrellas not only for the VIP members, but for general public. The sun can be brutal and the palm trees are not protecting enough. For this reason we will not return to this hotel in summer. But in December and April it was okay. The hotel was not 100% occupied and it was very nice. I imagine when its full it will feel crowded. The hotel was very clean - everywhere, and you could always see people picking up and maintaining grounds. The food was very basic even at the restaurants. One would think that you could see more seafood - not lobsters, but at least good fish. We only saw swai - which they named "grouper", one of the restaurants served salmon. But - even though the food was basic - we were never hungry. The staff was great. The rooms were cleaned early. The waiters at the buffet were polite and worked very hard. The kitchen staff were very attentive. Eloida saw that we were looking for certain food items and always made sure we found what we needed. Thank you Eloida! We had a small issue with the pillows. The pillows we found in our room were rock hard, filled with some kind of plastic filling. After suffering during the first night we asked for other pillows and the hotel kindly accommodated us - they offered us a choice of two great pillows - we took both - memory foam and down pillows. We stayed for 12 nights - and without this our vacation would had been ruined. The hotel had a lot of activities. We liked Zumba, archery range and catamarans. The shows were nice, especially we were impressed by the acrobats. Proximity to the Playa del Carmen allows venturing in case you are looking for more crowds, more tourist attractions and more souvenirs. You can take the bike at the hotel. Overall - we enjoyed our vacation. (But we are not picky and we always see positive and appreciate efforts). The staff made it even though the management is trying to cut corners whenever possible.…
