The staff is beyond lovely and the service impeccable, as is the food. The beach is beautiful and the programs are fantastic. Indulge in the yoga na meditations...AND do have a massage, and take a stroll behind the spa and you may run into the spider monkeys swinging around the trees! If you are sensitive to noise, do request a room at the end, so not near the music from the bar. The music is hypnotic when you are at the bar and beautifully rhythmic.

This is a resort where you have high expectations going to and all Your expectations are met and above and beyond experience that you feel from the movement you walk into the lobby. You immediately feel like you entered into paradise with the smell, smiles and welcoming service. Besides the rooms, shuttle service and room service. You have many pools to choose from in which you have some of the most amazing food selection and service that can only imagine. The 4 restaurants you have as options for dinner are top notch and you feel like your eating fine dinning all day long with the service that is just immaculate. The staff is so friendly and accommodating happy and go above and beyond to get to know you and ensure your enjoying the stay to the fullest. The food and menu offer the healthiest options that you cannot find one bad dish. We highly recommend this stunning resort and will ensure to return at least once a year.

Visited here for a week with my family celebrating birthdays and my daughters new pregnancy. What an amazing resort and experience we had with amazing amenities, food & the staff really makes this resort and experience exceptional. The attention & details provided with every step of the way you really feel like your with family members and in paradise. The resort is situated in the most breathtaking beach & views from every room, everywhere you sit you have the many blue beach colors, beautiful sand & relaxing cabanas and lounge chairs throughout with non-stop service from anywhere in the resort. The rooms & the accommodations inside are perfect & beyond, with everything you can imagine. It’s a very secluded & private resort with a lot of greenery and stunning architecture to enjoy. We had the pleasure of having great conversations with a lot of the staff and what amazing people & well trained all on the same level. Andres & Sara were always walking around & ensuring that everyone was having the best experience & truly you can see they care on delivering that 5 star experience. Thank you Andres, Sara & to all the wonderful staff for everything. We cannot wait to return & be back with you all.

Wow! We expected this resort to be amazing but we were in for a much more of a surprise from the moment we arrived. This is a definition of a paradise resort and a vacation destination. From the staff, to the environment, resort, amenities, food, beach views, rooms, ambiance you really cannot get any better. This resort is a hidden gem, my family and I were glad to have discovered it. We stayed here 6 night and realized it was too short of a trip and extend 2 more nights. It was hard to leave when you have such an amazing resort and staff that offers all that you can imagine to accommodate and ensure that the guest is always taken care of, enjoying and relaxing is their goal. The staff is so happy and well trained that every single person speaks the same language and shares the same goal for the experience of the guest. From the moment you walk in you forget everything else and enjoy paradise world because the hotel and staff treat you like family and the amenities are designed to make the guest to experience an exceptional time. The beach is breathtaking and one of the most beautiful beaches I’ve ever seen, clean, well designed to enjoy from cabanas right on the sand or pool side with unlimited service from anywhere on the property. The selection of restaurants and food was exceptional, healthy, organic and chefs put a lot of time and thought into every ingredient for an amazing presentation and taste. We loved all the restaurants equally because of the quality food and the staff is what made the full experience for us to enjoy to the maximum. Compliments to Andres, Sara and all the Staff for such an amazing resort and environment you have created to provide such an amazing experience for us. Thank you, we felt like we were part of the family and we cannot wait to return back soon again! Until next time family.

Ironically, when I met with the Shaman, he spoke of the danger of high expectations. I had to smile, because that essentially summarized some of my feelings at Palmaia, As a "First Post-Covid vacation", we felt comfortable choosing Palmaia, and our expectations, as well as the price we were paying, were HIGH. I have sent an email directly to the GM, because I hate to just post on Trip Advisor without "delivering the mail". I will try to remain positive by putting our experience in the context of what guests can expect. We have Andrés to thank for literally saving our vacation. Our first 3 days we felt pretty alone and unclear about how to communicate with the "Nomadic Guides". Everything crashed on the third night as our dining experience was destroyed by unruly children running around the dining room, screaming, and climbing on the furniture. We asked our waiter to possibly move us to another, quiet area of the restaurant, and we were essentially told that 70% of the guests were family, and there wasn't anything they could do. We were aghast! Enter Andrés, who swept in, and ensured we had quiet dining experiences the rest of the week. He was always checking in, always caring and essentially saved our vacation (and this review!!). Some hints and tips for future guests....and yes, we would recommend Palmaia. It is an amazing experience, however, it still has some growing pains. - Plan to participate in as many classes and experiences as you can. This differentiates the resort, and frankly, justifies the cost. The most amazing were the Cacao Ritual and the Meditation Concert. Unlike anything! Also, plan to schedule some of the readings like the Astrology and Tarot. These are one on one, and amazing. BUT....no one really tells you about them. You have to schedule with the Nomadic Guide, so now you know! - The food is creative, and the Plant Based is always the lead on the menu, but rest assured, you can add meats, or dairy. When we were there, only two restaurants were open each night, but that was fine. You can order as much as you want. I recommend ordering and sharing a collection of appetizers, and maybe 3 mains to share. - We loved our service from Pablo in Ume and Lek. He knows his wines! All the bar drinks are included, and each day they have a specialty drink that is worth trying. The wines included are OK, and didn't compel us to have to buy "better" bottles. The Margarita made with passion fruit, Grand Marnier with fresh pepper is amazing. When you are in the chairs / cabanas, there is a "flag" you can raise when you want service. I often waited about 30 minutes then just walked to the bar myself. This service was variable at best, but the drinks are amazing!! -- For us, and this was likely our "mistake", we were thinking we would have a dedicated Nomadic Guide. Not true, and we figured this out. But for the first 3 days we felt alone and a bit confused. Since the main check- in is far from the main resort, there is no concierge to go to. The resort relies on the What's App for guests to communicate with the guides. Our experience was not stellar with What's App, and if you really wanted to get something to happen, you needed to track down the Nomadic Guide of the day walking around. This should be easier. Maybe a little "nomadic tent" where you knew you could always find someone to talk to. - The resort relies on QR Codes for menus and activity schedules, which is OK, because that is the way the world is moving. However, the activities were listed by the type of experience, and not the day of the week, so I found myself creating a matrix to know what was happening when. And THEN....a few days later, we saw a printed schedule by day in the pile of papers in the room. Oh well. I recommend you pack a small notebook to keep track of things. There is no note paper in the room. - Plan for SLOW service in Su Casa. That may be ok, since everyone is on vacation, however, if you are planning to attend experiences in the morning after breakfast, you might run out of time. It was about 90 minutes each day. The other restaurants which were open for dinner had great service, so that was fine. - Kudos to Luis who gave a GREAT massage in the Spa! The rooms are private casitas with large windows facing the forest. There is a (very cold) Cenote that you can dip into at the Spa. Expensive, but a great experience. - We kept thinking we had missed an important Check In Ritual when we checked in....something had made us think there was some ethereal experience...but in fact, apparently this is simply being offered a lovely drink while you are charging thousands of dollars on your credit card. - We cannot say enough about the private nature of Palmaia, and the private beach. No vendors, no people trying to sell stuff. The resort is at the end of a private residential area, so very peaceful. There on security guards on the beach (not in an oppressive way!). One day we walked into Playa Del Carmen....could not WAIT to be back in peaceful Palmaia! - We arranged for private transportation to / from Cancun Airport. They said they would be outside baggage claim, and they are actually outside beyond the terminal. Be aware of "running the gauntlet" as you walk through the airport. You will be accosted by all sorts of individuals trying to tell you that "they" are your transportation, or representatives of "your hotel". Be assured that the driver outside will be holding a Palmaia sign. - Right now, Palmaia is providing FREE COVID testing, which is required to return t the US....very convenient and easy. This was FANTASTIC! Thank you! We would recommend Pamaia, and hope that they can create some better dining experiences for adults traveling without children and better communication/
