We arrived at the hotel to find that is was 15 minutes from the centre, in an unprepossessing street. The hotel had got the date of our stay wrong and claimed we had booked three 2 bedroom suites (despite there only being my wife and I and two kids). We were shown around two dark and depressing rooms with the...

Family of four spent a few days here as part of a Yucatan vacation. Within easy reach of the city centre (and airport) this small hotel looks even better in reality, more than living up to the photos on their web site. Rooms were large, cool and comfortable with delightful views into the courtyard and gardens. Splendid colonial style architecture...

My family of three spent five days in this splendid hotel. Luis and Allen catered to our every need and made us feel like we were family. Just spent three nights in this gorgeous villa in Spanish style. Spacious, beautiful decorated rooms and fantastic patios with beautiful gardens and a nice pool. Great value for money! Staff is wonderful. Allan did anything to make us feel comfortable. Merida is a great town. If you can try to be there on a sunday. Older couples dancing on the...

The building is beautiful, historical and full of character. The owner/ manager/ staff could not do any more to make your life easy, cooking meals for you whenever you want, helping with restaurant reservations, its like having your own personal concierge 24/7 In terms of the location it is a bit of a walk into the centre of town but...

First off, this place is gorgeous. The rooms were splendidly furnished and filled with lovely details, boasting huge ceilings and doors apparently made for some mythical breed of giants. Staff, during our time comprised of one, was very helpful and polite. Location is good but not perfect. Main areas of attraction are within walking distance, but anything more than 10...

The hotel and grounds are beautiful. The rooms are large and very clean with high ceilings, air conditioning, multiple ceiling fans, and gigantic, romantic, wood framed beds. The floors have beautiful antique tile designs. The staff could not be more accomodating and friendly. We felt like family.

We stayed at the Hotel Villa Merida for two nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The great experience started with the making of our reservation and the the prompt and friendly service we received--the response and follow up were immediate. Luis, who is the manager, really does a nice job. The hotel is walk of 10 minutes or so...

Okay, when booking this reservation, we so wanted to believe all the raves we read here on Trip Advisor that we just breezed over the not-so-good reviews. BIG MISTAKE! We really felt mislead by positive reviews and I really even suspect many of them are fake positives by some advertising agency or friends of the management. First of all, my...
