Luz en Yucatan was even better than we’d been led to believe it would be! It’s like a little oasis in the middle of the hot and dusty city. We were given a warm welcome by Lupita, plus some information about the city. The rooms – indeed the whole building – is beautifully and tastefully decorated and furnished. When I...

Stay at the retreat, you won't regret it. After every excersion we couldn't wait to return to the casa to refresh and rejuvenate. Perfect location and perfect hosts . Thanks to Tom and staff who anticipated our every need even before requesting it. Been depressed ever since returning home, can't wait to return. Don't hesitate, just do it. I would...

I can't say enough great things about this lovely place to stay in Merida. Everything.... the staff, the rooms (I stayed in 2 different ones and loved them both), the ambiance and the other guests made this one of my favorites places I have ever stayed. I can't wait to go back as it feels like home in Merida!

We stayed at the Luz for a few nights in early June 2011 and we honestly just can’t say enough about this charming, delightful little hotel. We were impressed from the moment we arrived as Augustino ran through some suggestions for our stay, which among others were all conveniently outlined in printed Luzful information, dog-eared after only a couple of...

Even worse the water pressure is very low, so it was hard to wash my hair and body. The area is really hot and humid, so I wanted to have nice and warm shower to wash all the dirt and sweat off. Other than that, the hotel is clean, the service is fair. Good for cheap travelers. This hotel is...

Hola Felisuke and thank you for your review of Luz en Yucatan Unfortunately we believe you were a victim of our latest project here at Luz. This is one of the best B&B's we've ever stayed in. Spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful staff, spacious rooms, a lovely pool, hammocks everywhere, complimentary tequila shots - this is a sweet spot of tranquility in bustling Merida. The location is awesome, it is a 5 minute walk to the Grand Plaza and is in a really nice area....

My husband and I truly loved our stay at Luz en Yucatan. The location was perfect, right in the heart of the City, the rooms are charming, well appointed and spotlessly clean, the beds comfortable, the pool and grounds are beautiful and well maintained, and the staff could not have been more helpful. We'll definitely be back!

A lovely and tranquil oasis and a great location for exploring Merida. Tom and his staff were friendly and helpful. We loved our stay and would recommend this hotel for those wishing to avoid your typical boring hotel room. Poolside rooms are worth the small amount extra.

We stayed here for eight days and the place is truly an oasis in the middle of the city. Every effort is made to accomodate your needs down to providing assistance as we sadly left at 5:00 A.M. to make our flight. Upon arrival we were greeted by a friendly night staffer who set up the A.C. which really cools...

Luz in Merida was a great hotel. Lovely, accommodating owner and staff. The hotel (including the rooms, small casitas and pool areas) is beautiful and decorated with amazing Mexican handicraft pieces and art. The location is great too.
