We loved our stay here. It was a great value. We had a separate sitting room complete with hammock! We walked to the grand plaza easily, where every day of the week there is free music or dance. Merida is an interesting, clean city and central for many day trips. Can't wait to return and make Luz en Yucatan our...

We've been sending clients here for 15-years. We helped the original owner sell it to the previous owner. The current owner, Tom and his partners do a great job of keeping the place clean, happy and continually providing an excellent product, in a great location for a fabulous price. We at Mexico International real estate always know our clients are...

We agree with every positive comment others have posted. This charming hotel is an oasis, with so many thoughtful touches, like a welcome beer on arrival, a common kitchen/dining area, coffee maker (with coffee!), fridge and large bottle of drinking water in each room, comfy mattresses, and wonderfully spacious bathrooms. The owners and staff are very friendly and helpful, the...

We had the fortune of coming back to Merida after visiting in 2009 and we made sure to stay again at Luz En Yucatan. The staff is fantastic and the building is very unique. We wish we could have stayed much longer.

I have stayed here several times. The owners and managers are friendly and helpful. The rooms are very clean, quiet and yet in the heart of Merida. I take early a.m. flights and they always arrange to have a taxi there at 4:30 a.m. with a bell boy available to help with luggage. Near good food and good shopping and...

The reviews are true. Luz is a great place in the perfect historical downtown location. Everything went perfectly. Our penthouse room was beautiful with a fantastic outdoor kitchen, lovely bed, high def 36inch tv, air condition was remote and quiet too. Tom, the owner was very informative, polite and personable. All around excellent stay for a good price. Thanks Tom.

Luz en Yucatan and its owners, Tom and Dennard, really deserve all of the excellent reviews they get.I would rate them and their establishment as number one among all of the places that I have ever stayed. The cleanliness, comfort and concierge type services are second to none.Accommodation of special individual needs is also outstanding.

I traveled to Merida for the first time and decided to live at a hotel for a month before renting a home for a month. The Luz en Yucatan was able to provide a wonderful airy room, queen plus single (not needed) but gives an idea of size with small lounge, fridge, microwave, coffee maker, large bathroom. During my first...

This hotel is in a great location and is very comfortable and unassuming. The owner and all personnel were helpful from our initial inquiry through our entire stay. The rooms are large and nicely decorated. A nice touch is the large cask of "agua purificado" in the room, which saves money and the environment with the bottles of water you...
