Charming boutique level hotel on the edge of the center of the city in the colonia of St. Lucia about three long blocks from the plaza mayor and about two blocks from teatro Peon Contreras. It's also steps away from the new and bustling Mercado 60 with it's collection of trendy food and drink stalls. Look for my positive review...

A friend recommended Luz en Yucatan and we were not disappointed. Coming from Belize we were on a budget but because it was a slow time of year (September) the management offered us our pick of rooms for the same price. We got the second floor "Patron" suite with kitchen, two beds, bathroom and balcony for the same price that...

The Luz en Yucatan is a true gem in Merida. I love its character and charm. Spacious rooms with the comforts of home - including wi-fi, tv and mini-fridge - yet it has an exotic feel. I loved that I had a choice between traditional Mayan hamacas and regular beds (I chose the hammock :) The staff is wonderful! They...

Upon a recommendation from colleagues, I made a reservation at this hotel for a work trip to Merida. Right off the bat, a representative quickly emailed me back and confirmed my booking. Given that this is a fairly modern hotel, I was a little surprised by the notification that payment could only be made in cash form. They did ultimately...

Luz En Yucatan is a really special place. In the heart of Merida, but a quiet oasis for the heat of the afternoon. Our room was clean and comfortable with a full kitchen. The pool is fantastic, as are all the common areas. It was nice chatting with some of the other guests, but there's also plenty of privacy. We...

This is a small hotel with only 16 rooms a small pool located in the heart of the city. The good, reasonable prices, refrigerator in every room with a separate five gallon water supply. The staff is very friendly and they have a small complementary liquor cart with rum and tequlia. You also have two welcome beers in your refrigerator....

I think this place does need my thumbs up as it already has way too many, though I feel obliged to still say a few words. It is absolutely the place to stay in Merida. Centrally located yet slightly away from busy streets. If you wish rent a car for Chichen Itza or Routa Puc, there is a good car...

There is a recent that the Luz is rated at the top on Trip Advisor. Very convenient to the centro and very family friendly. It's a small property with about 10 or so units but prefect for those that font like the masses, like us. Awesome owners and staff and overall great experience for the price point. Would highly recommend...

This ended up being the perfect place for a few days quiet getaway. Our room was upgraded and very nice, and all the staff was very friendly and helpful. It's close to the city center so you can walk many places. You can easily get a cab to go somewhere farther away. There are many restaurants nearby to eat at,...

As a recent college grad, I am on a budget. There are rooms for any budget (and it helps to share with a friend). Each room has purified water, a fridge, coffeemaker, and air conditioning. The shower water pressure is great. The pool is beautiful and clean. The front desk helped me arrange an early morning cab to get me...
