Absolutely delightful. A converted colonial house that preserves the cool elegance of its courtyards and balconies, combined with a bold colour scheme that contrives to be vibrant and serene at the same time. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast in the rear courtyard is a highlight, with attentive, friendly staff. Only the ginger cat, who clearly owns the...

Medio Mundo is a two-story hotel with entry from the street via a red door. The rooms surround two courtyards, one with a fountain and the other with a pool, both with well-kept gardens. Our room was spacious with a large comfortable bed, tiled floor and simply, but elegantly furnished. A small writing table and two bedside cabinets with reading...

We have spent few nights at Medio Mundo in spring 2010... What a fantastic place - friendly, cosy and full of wonderfully restored colonial charm... a true oasis located just few steps from Merida historic Plaza Mayor. Very friendly English-speaking staff, world-travelled owner talking to all guests, wonderful decor oozing old colonial charm, small patio full of tropical flora makes...

It just felt like home!!! The owner and the staff was GREAT. Always very careful about us and our needs. They give very goods advices about the city. The breakfast is amazing. And the hotel (rooms, swimming pool) very quiet and beautiful.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night and we were so pleasantly surprised when we arrived! After trying unsuccessfully to get into Luz en Yucatan for 2 nights, Tom of Luz graciously suggested Mediomundo and we pulled up with some trepidation only to find a beautifully presented oasis. On a very grey and miserable day, the vibrant colours...

As a B&B and boutique hotel owner for the past 16 yrs, I think I know a good place when I see one and Medio Mundo was spot on in all categories. Service was top notch from an excellent, well trained courteous staff, breakfasts were hearty, well presented and delicious. Guest rooms were simple, properly designed and well thought out....

My husband and I just got back from a trip to Mexico that included two nights in Merida at the Hotel Medio Mundo. The pictures on their website really don't do it justice. It's one of the most serene places I've ever stayed. Everywhere you look is some gorgeous juxtaposition of colors. Wish I could live in this house!

We liked everything about this hotel. The staff was excellent, always helpful and friendly. The location was about 4 blocks from the grand plaza and therefore less noisy and hectic. It was 100 miserable degrees in Merida during the day but the hotel was a haven from the heat and insistent vendors. Our room was large and surprisingly cool with...

Nelson will appreciate the title. We spent 3 nights at this oasis of cool calm in Merida and loved it. The peace of the brilliantly painted courtyard, the cool, tastefully simple room, the breakfast next to the pool in the sun...all wonderful. All the staff could not have been more helpful and charming but the highlight for us was our...

My wife and I spent 2 nights at Medio Mundo and did not want to leave. Nice and quiet with comfy beds and great showers. We only had one breakfast as we had to leave very early one morning for our flight home but it was excellent. Owners and staff are great and very helpful. Highly recommend Medio Mundo and...
