We really enjoyed this simple, but elegant hotel in a perfect location to visit Merida for a few days. Steps away from everything, so the need for a car is very low. But this hotel is the oldest hotel in Merida. We had a comfortable king sized bed, a shower with hot water, and a cold refrigerator. I guess that...

We have been staying at this hotel for many years and still not disappointed, in fact it's getting better. This visit they put us in a large suite that would accommodate a family of 10, it was that huge with two a/c units and inroom wifi connection. With the favorable dol/peso rate, the room rate was around 250usd for 5...

Old world charm at its finest. Staff friendly and eager to assist. Big rooms, impeccably clean and serviced. Great central location. Being on a plaza, there is noise Thursday to Sunday, but I'm a light sleeper and it wasn't too bad. Highly recommended.

The location of the hotel is perfect, right next to the historical area - furthermore the hotel is located in a traffic free square which gives it a really nice cozy touch - another point we enjoyed is the historical french classical style of the hotel - the negatives is that you have to find you way to a public...

Located slap bang in the historical center the gran hotel is the perfect colonial experience and highly affordable. The hotel is extremely grand, full of antiques, beautiful old tile floors, wood carved doors. The staff are attentive and friendly. Our only regret was that we couldnt stay longer

We loved everything about this hotel. The decor is full of antiques, huge staircases, gorgeous doorways. AC in the room, overlooking the square. it was a little loud due to the free music events in the square on Friday nights (goes until midnight), but it's no fault of the hotel. Parking was unavailable for some reason, but apparently it's usually...

Location was just perfect; a block from all the things the guide books say to see; the front desk was super helpful in English and Spanish; the cafe in front was good. The cost was perfect. We would have returned for a second stay if there was room. There are antiques everyhere; and many are not for practical use but...

We checked in on a Wednesday. We were informed that there had been a mix up and that we'd been upgraded to a suite and no additional charge. They asked if that would be a problem. As it turns out, the only problem was that we didn't want to leave. The hotel is beautiful. Yes, it's obviously old and has...

My wife and Enjoyed a very restful night at the Gran Hotel. Delicious and quaint Dinner out followed by a 40 Minute Horse and Carriage ride through Historic Merida. A delightful evening. Sunday Morning we walked and had Breakfast overlooking the Square and shopped the markets with locals. An excellent experience within a welcoming community of friendly people.

Gran Hotel de Merida is located in the heart of the City Center one block from the Zocalo and a short walk to Paseo Montejo. Plenty of shopping, sights and dining to be had in walking distance. On Sunday morning we enjoyed the bicycle day where the city center and Paseo Montejo were closed off to car traffic and you...
