First of all, you can't wish for a BEST LOCATION, the hostel is right on the main square! We had booked a private room with a bathroom, but we asked to be moved to another one right away as this one was very small, in the basement (actually all rooms with bathroom are in the basement), with no window, it...

One of my favourite hostels of this trip. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and guests and fantastic breakfast. Arrived during the morning when breakfast was being served and the sight of a table full of fruit, fresh bread and omelettes being made to order which set a fantastic impression. The location is excellent being that it's on the main square. The...

Hostal el Zocalo is a wonderful hostel with a location you just can't beat!! Their breakfast is worth the cost of the room alone- it's a buffet with eggs, cereal, toast, yogurt, fruit, etc., a great start to the day! The staff in general was very knowledgable and gave excellent recommendations for restaurants and things to do around Merida, the...

This was by far the best place we've stayed in Mexico. Javier at the reception was really helpful. The rooms were clean with very comfortable beds. Location couldn't be better and breakfast was unbeatable. No doubt I will recommend this place to everyone.

I did like it as the hostel had a very helping staff and the location is strategic to talk a good walk around the downtown area of Merida. It is just across the cathedral and important landmarks. I even could walk to the bus station to take the Puuc Route tour and got to know 5 different historic places including...

I stayed at Hostal Zocalo for four nights and at 160 pesos a night (£6) I found it to be very good value for money. The hostal is in a great location, right on the main square and a walkable distance form the Coach stations (15 minutes) and various Colectivo stops (10 minutes). As a lone female, I found the...

This is a historic place, economic and very chill environment. You can cook, smoke and use the wi if anytime. Use solar power and they offer tours anywhere. The owner is very open minded and a great team working hard

We had a very pleasant time in this hostal and the breakfast in the open kitchen was great! We could switch the room without any problems and the view from the roof was very nice. You should use the showers early since they tend to run out of hit water after some time

I stayed for about a week in Zoacalo. A few things to say and call out: 1. Breakfast - Zocalo takes pride in having a phenomenal breakfast. It's everything you could need and more. Omelette, cafe, frutas - todo lo que necesitas que tener un día tan bueno! 2. Joel & Javi - on reception. Two of the nicest guys you...
