Merida is full of hustle, music, dance and entertainment, but along the main road you can find Casa Alvarez Guest House, a wonderful calm and colourful retreat! The family are extraordinarily kind and so proud of their home, they have a lovely pool, a kitchen, a roof terrace, fridges in the rooms, comfortable beds, fantastic showers - every facility you... Stayed here for 2 nights middle of February and enjoyed our stay. We stayed in room 6 I believe, they call it the penthouse. Room was very comfortable, outside sitting area very nice and the location of the room made for a very private area. The bathroom was very small but it worked. AC was a problematic. Location was ideal... More

This winter my wife and I spent four nights at the Casa Alvarez (62 St. Guest House). It was our first visit to Merida, heck it was our first trip to Mexico. We loved every minute of it, and it all began with the warm and homey welcome Miriam gave us when we arrived. The hotel is a boutique hotel... More

62 St Guest is the new name this year of what has always been known as the Casa Alvarez run by Henrique Alvarez and his sister Miriam. It is in Merida's Centro Zone just five blocks from the central plaza always bustling with activity and surrounded by wonderful restaurants. It doesn't look like much from the street, but inside it... More

Myriam and Enrique were extremely helpful and friendly. We loved being close to the historic centre and went out every one of our ten nights to free cultural events. Our room was clean and comfortable. We found the communal kitchen very practical and met interesting people thanks to it.

We have stayed in this small guest house for two years. Each time we found it to be a clean and friendly environment. The rooms are large with an ensuite bathroom, a refrigerator, a.c., wifi and T.V. The guest house has a communal Kitchen for preparing meals if you like to do that. There is a small dipping pool and... More

We stayed here a week in December and really enjoyed our stay. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were large, clean and comfortable with lots of hot water. The wi-fi was pretty good. There were nice areas to enjoy outside the room. The kitchen was convenient but could be better equipped. The location is excellent.

We recently stayed at this lovely guest house for six nights and loved it. The managers were very kind and helpful, it was really immaculate, and located close enough to the Plaza Grande, museums, tons of restaurants, and other sites in Merida that it seemed like a perfect place to spend a few days. We spent more time visiting with... More

I stayed at Casa Alvarez every night on two separate trips to Merida for a number of reasons. The owners, Miriam and Enrique, as well as their adorable cat Charlie, are wonderful and accommodating hosts. They truly go out of their way to make their guests comfortable, happy, and feel at home. They are also very knowledgable when it comes... More

“All rooms are unique. Rooms 1. 2 and 3 are large and on the ground floor near the communal kitchen. Room 4 is tiny, but cozy and right next to the kitchen. Room five is midsized off the central courtyard. Room six is called "the penthouse" because it is on a third level with its own courtyard. Rooms 7 and 8 are off the balcony overlooking the entrance courtyard. Room nine, in the same area, is the only two-bedroom unit. Room ten is reserved for a couple who have been wintering at the case for the past nine years. Rooms 14 and 15 (no #13) are in a separate area above the pool area. All have their own charm.”
