We just stayed for the first time at ISLA MUJERES PALACE JUNE 8-15 and loved the personal attention and all the details. The staff is just amazing and it is a cute/quaint spot we had spent a day here and there prior but decided to stay a week which was perfect. The pool bar: Edy, Alfredo and Andy were amazing! Araceli and Christian were out there a couple days and also amazing- I just loved them all! Great service. Boris leads the pool activity and is fun! We played pool volleyball and had a blast. Boris remembered me DAY ONE from stopping by on my 50th girls trip to Leblanc for the day- he said- "YOU WERE HERE THIS SPRING ONE DAY YOUR BIRTHDAY WEEK" and I could NOT believe he remembered me! JUAN at breakfast was OUTSTANDING! He truly was! Such a nice man to see first thing in the morning and one day he even pulled a double shift so we had him serving us for breakfast and dinner! Carmen in the spa was GREAT! HABACHI NIGHT by far is the BEST dinner night so be sure to sign up! AMAZING FOOD!!!! ITALIAN NIGHT is great oo but I wish that was not the same night as hibachi! Breakfast, lunch and room service- all amazing but dinners there are just "OK" in comparison to other palaces. The hibachi and italian were great but I think there needs to be more diversity in the dinner menu. LOVE the ice cream cart by the pool and love the setting so much! We rented a golf cart for the day and spent 8 hours sight seeing and beach bar hopping stopping back at palace as well- FUN FUN DAY- I think Palace should somehow have some golf carts on property- maybe use resort credits to use them - first come first serve- that would be a great service as opposed to taking a taxi downtown to get one each time. The island is just so fun! We did the CONTOY ISLAND excursion which was GREAT! I wanted to get to that island and finally did! ONE TIP THOUGH- it is $150 per person and you cannot use resort credits but the boat originated from isla mujeres then leaves and picks up CANCUN guests and comes back for shopping. If you are STAYING at ISLA skip that part- you do not need to leave at 8am to go clear to cancun and back- we met the boat at 11:30am and took it to contoy (90 minutes out) to swim and snorkel then had lunch on contoy and enjoyed the beautiful island beach for a couple hours then a two hour boat ride back- it goes to CANCUN first to drop the guests (and unload the boat) but we enjoyed the sunset and pretty much PRIVATE ride back to ISLA! The private boat from the V&V marina was fabulous! We truly appreciated that for both directions! WE LOVE ISLA PALACE and really enjoyed our stay!

We had a fabulous time at the Isla Mujeres Palace resort. The smaller setting allowed us to really get to know the staff, who are extremely accommodating and have a great sense of humor. We hope to return in the near future. Jain Guinto, Mitzy, Alexis, Edy, Paolo, Alex, Deby, Pylar, and Macedonio were several of our favorite staff there.

All the Palace resorts do a great job and Isla Majeres also checked that box. Rooms are always great. They have a very nice boat to due private transfers to the resort which worked out great coming and going. The resort is small so eating options are a little more limited than other Palaces we've stayed at in the past. The service at the restaurants was very good in general, the breakfast crew was great. The beach is nice, the water is mostly sea grass on the bottom which might turn some off and getting in and out of the ocean you had to walk thru some small rocks but no big deal. There was snorkeling around the pier that had a lot of juvenile fish to see. They have kayaks and paddle boards you can use during the day which was nice. The pool area was great, water was perfect and the swim up bar kept the drinks flowing (except it looked like a 5 year old tiled the place). It was a very quiet, relaxed place which was nice, no having to get up at 6 to try to get a chair at the beach or pool. There is a beach club next door that shuttles hundreds of people a day in catamarans, they could be a little boisterous if you were on the beach but generally it wasn't annoying. The nightly music was very good, single musicians and we liked all 3. The fire show was just OK and the Mexican dance show I could have skipped. [Do not go to the North end of the island which is where the shopping district is unless you just like being yelled at by every single store worker and restaurant worker trying to get you in their establishment. It makes for a terrible experience from our perspective. They have a scam where they see your hotel bracelet and befriend you that way by indicating they saw you at the hotel and with everyone having masks, it seems plausible until it happens 10 times. They have a nice story indicating they can't get enough hours at the hotel due to Covid and have to supplement their incomes working in the North end. Pretty sleazy, but you're just a mark to be taken advantage of at the North end stores. Not sure about this new tax they're supposed to be collecting as an exit tax for visitors to Cancun, we paid up front on-line and it was never asked for so I'm assuming we were ripped off but maybe it was linked somehow and they saw we paid it so didn't ask, not sure. Also there's a terrible process at the airport to leave where you have to create an account on your phone and enter all the travelers in your party/Covid questions to get a QOR code to just enter the security process. A little stressful if you're short on time once at the airport.
