One of my favorite places in Mexico! Awesome hostel, cheap and incredible massages on the beach (exclusive low-prices for guests), great chill out hammock area and perfect location. Best to book in advance so you can get a private room - very reasonably priced!

rooms were okay, bathrooms not very clean. Staff okay-ish, like, not unfriendly, but also not very friendly. Always big row in front of reception, so maybe they should hire more staff? Very bad wifi. Dunno how the breakfast is, we overslept XD Premises & beach garden very beautiful, cool life band in the evening. Sooo, all in all: hostel okay,...

The hostel has different rooms and we were give a fairly bad one....first my mattress was replaced with one that was brown and soaked in unknown fluids!! The staff are so rude! Nice to some and very unfriendly to others! Read these reviews and change!!!!! It's not hard to smile... I found one of their keys on another Island and...

Great place with very friendly bilingual staff, chill clientele, and great parties every night. The accommodation is basic but comfortable, and what you'd expect for the cheap prices. Great place to spend a few nights and get to know some new people and they do a fun beach party each night. Don't book if you're after a quiet night's sleep...

This hostel gave me such a good impression after arriving in hectic Cancun. It was easy accessing it from the ferry, maybe a 7 min walk. This oasis has the best vibe. The staff was amazing and helpful. And don't miss the morning yoga! Not the best breakfast, but manageable. Great common area and you will meet many friendly people...

There is so much to do here, they have a pool table, ping pong table, live music, beach volleyball, beach bar, yoga, there was even a magic show which I liked. When you finally want to leave the hostel they also have diving courses available. Not very comfortable beds but it's the cheapest place on the island. This is probably one...

The beach bar out the back is great but that's it. Rooms are unbelievably hot. Staff are not very friendly. They had people playing a keyboard like Ross in friends. Drinks are weak. Asked to strengthen slightly and the guy said only if a tip. They kind of have you be the balls as its one of the only hostels...

Only hostel to stay at on Isla Mujeres! Mean beach party every night, cheapest diving at reception too. We stayed in Private rooms because it was just about as cheap as 2x dorm room, free drinks when you check in

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mexicos oldest hostel that still ranks among the countries best. Built in the 1950s it is located on Isla Mujeres, a small Caribbean (7km long) island and is 20min from Cancun by boat. This hostel boasts a restaurant and bar that is open until 11pm, after which the real fun begins at the beach bar until 2.45am. Pocna has access to beach volleyball, games room, movies on demand and bikes for rent. We are close to North Beach, which is Isla Mujeres most beautiful beach and Pocna itself is situated right on its own beach that is perfect for relaxing and taking the sun. This exciting hostel offers free activities such as Yoga everymorning, Spanish classes, juggling and what ever happens to be being taught by one of the many talented people that pass through. If you have the talent and the time of at least one month, you can teach an activity and have your cost of your stay covered.Winter time brings on private parties inside the hostel and also bonfire nights with live music and jamming after. Everynight in there is live music in Pocna and the year also brings many high profile bands to play within the walls of Pocna. Those to date include Los Authentico Decadentes, Los Aguas Aguas, No Te Va a Gustar and La Renga with many more in the future plans. An amazing fun and social hostel. On the backpackers trail and full of international guests. A must to come and visit in Mexico. ... more   less
