While staff took covid seriously we only were request to wear masks while walking between destinations. We enjoyed every minute. We came to relax and get away from hassles and decisions. If we wanted to be involved there was always something or if we wanted to lay on a cabana and listen to waves, watch the puffy clouds, palm fronds on blue skys and be served pickled jalapeno margaritas we could and did often. If we got warm took a swim with snorkel masks and there were great fish right off "beach" Aaron worked amazingly hard and learned exactly how we appreciated our drinks, fish tacos and cheeseburgers. We had never snorkeled or used kayaks before but Edgar and Carlos "Charlie" made it so easy, safe and FUN! Wilbert was so friendly and helpful at The Mexican restaurant. It seemed like "foodie" mexican. We thought it may be crowded due to spring breaks finishing but we're pleased to find it only slightly more crowded than out 12/2019 trip. Only negative. The showers were "refreshing" but my wife prefers the ability to choose scalding hot sometimes. No such luck. HINT: I found AC fan loud as it turned off during the night so I set to low and it never cycled off.…
Third stay at this resort and plan to visit again this year in 2021 All staff go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable and have what you need. Roberto makes the best Bushwacker! And Alfonso is always there to help you with anything your stomach desires. The morning staff..all superb .. Edgar,Hector,Arturo, chef Lucely..the hostess Dianely. We dined for lunch at the fish restaurant as part of the fiesta Americana resort and there Hose jumps through hoops to help everyone !,and again thank you to Pedro who guides us to our rooms and assists us when we leave. Thank you everyone again
I booked with the new Trip Advisor Plus. The savings was greater than the fee and I thought, why not? What I didn't think about was how it was 100% non-refundable. And when you call, they of course tell you it was right there. It wasn't. Anyhow, my bad. I should know better. So I literally call them not 3 hours later and get the big NOPE. They blame the hotel and say it is their policy. So I decided to find out. After one phone call, a lot of searching for every email I could find to Posada groups (oh by the way Trip Advisor has a zero email policy - nice). I send one, then two, and finally a third email with English to Spanish translation asking them humbly for credit, so I may visit their beautiful resort. One day later I hear back that there is NO PENALTY FOR CANCELLATION, contact Trip Advisor Plus, and a day later? Full refund. I will be back Posada Group. Thank you, Mr. Jorge Guzman. This is customer service. The TripAdvisor Plus service? The jury still out.…
Service at the Explorean was awful. I traveled in a group with three others for a relaxing 40th birthday tip. We have all been to many all-inclusive resorts; we can all say for certain that we will NOT be visiting again. Most staff seemed reluctant and unwilling to assist us when we asked questions or were trying to make dinner reservations. Over all, we felt unwelcome and that we were a bother. I believe the language barrier could be responsible for part of the service issues but we were also completely ignored many times even when seeking out help from a staff member. We ended up spending most of our time over at the Fiesta Americana resort where the service seemed much better. The website doesn't detail much but the resort had excellent reviews on various websites (such as Trip Advisor) so we decided to try it out. We stayed at Explorean for the included excursions. The week of our stay we could choose from: Bike Ride & Chocolate, Cenote (which you have to bike to), Kayak/Paddle Boarding (which were detailed as "lessons" but consisted of the resort giving you one to paddle around on which you can do anytime at the resort so it's not really an "excursion" which in my mind would be where they take you somewhere interesting or take you out to then snorkel or whatever like at other resorts we've been to), and there was a Snorkeling excursion. We were also notified at check-in of the weeks excursion offerings and sent an email listing the excursion details upon check-in. We ended up not being interested in any of the excursions offered for the week of our stay except for the snorkeling because we didn't want to have to bike everywhere, and though I like to kayak and paddle board, there wasn't an opportune place to do it because of all of the boat traffic nearby and the rough water. A blonde woman in charge of the excursions (we assume) visited every breakfast table around us, blatantly skipping ours for some reason, to let everyone know about the snorkeling excursion on the day it was held (we just found her later and let her know we also wanted to go). The snorkeling was EXCELLENT! We actually wished it was longer (it's 4-hours) and was the best part of our visit. Check-In took a while (45-60 minutes) but no big deal. Our room smelled musty/of mildew but was nicer than anticipated with the exception of the in-room minibar only having 1 type of soda each and 1 Tecate beer (which we don't drink). There were also ants in our bathroom & a spider. Don't stay!!…
Edgar, Ruben, & Gerardo were excellent guides during our activities. They made us feel safe at all times and were very responsible! We went kayaking and they instructed us with details and were great sharing the Mayan history behind Cozumel 😊 I would recommend them to anyone who is visiting the Exploran!
