The hotel did the required Covid test for free at the hotel. Very convenient. Beach is accessible by a tunnel under the road. Many bars. Swim up bar in the adult pool. We got a very good deal. $1650 per couple including airfare from Houston.

We had an enjoyable time but this hotel was nothing to write home about. And I would recommend honeymooners stay away! The pools and beach closes at 8pm. They come around and kick you out. The swim up bars close at 5:50 PM. I think their goal is to be family friendly, but just not great for the young couple that wants to watch the sunset from the pool. They also only have a few King Size beds. When we reserved our room we were told we could get 2 doubles or a king. When we got to the room it was 2 double beds. They then pushed the 2 double beds together to make it better. Again, it is an average hotel just not great for a young couple. Also, don't be fooled by the beach- they only offer a little cove of a beach. It's all rocky so there is no where to walk along a beach. Oh, and our friend stepped on a sea urchins on the rocks on the beach- friend stepped on one and had spikes in her foot for the remainder of the trip. There were no signs or education to stay off the rocks. After-the-fact the lifeguard told us to be careful of the sea urchins. Another thing to be aware of is that the Cozumel economy is so highly funded by tourism, and the tourism is really down right now, so people are really expecting tips. Even the physician who did our COVID test had a sign asking for tips! The sunset are amazing, and the beaches crystal clear, but just be aware of what you're getting yourself into before you book your stay here!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for four nights in April. It was great! The food was decent (you get what you pay for, the specialty restaurants were very good!) the pool and beach were very clean! Swim up bars and other bars made excellent drinks, great service! Everyone wore masks, felt very safe. Was able to get covid tested on site for free! Rooms were average, a little noisy at night, but good AC! How much time do you spend in the room anyway! I also got a minor injury and the staff was so helpful! Overall great for the price! Clean, covid conscious and lots of sun!

The Grand Park Royal Cozumel is a superb property based on the staff, location, food, amenities and general pricing. You can walk to downtown for local feeling or take a bike ride down a designated road for 15 miles. We rented two very good bikes for $94 US dollars and rode them average of 22 miles per day right from the property. The service and food was very good and changed often. Must stay place.

Overall trip was good. Airport arrival in Cozumel was total chaos...nothing clearly marked, packed with confused tourists like us. Taxi Local Experts were good. Grand Park Royal inclusive resort really good, clean, with friendly staff all around. Their time share high pressure sales staff in the lobby were very annoying but tolerable. Food was not very flavorful, only adequate. We rented a Jeep for a day and had a load of fun. Watch out for gas attendees who may try to trick you into handing them more American dollars than your gas bill requires, due to exchange rate confusion. Take plenty of single dollar bills for tipping needs. Coastlines are beautiful and water is very clear. We learned to snorkel and really enjoyed it.. We felt mostly safe the entire trip. Departure experience at airport was really good, organized and uneventful. Overall a nice trip!
