We spent a few days here and we have already booked a return trip. The accommodations are what you have come to expect from a Westin. This delightful hotel was hit by a hurricane and the pandemic in 2020. Despite that, they have recovered well - only a few areas of minor damage remain and a slight musty smell when you walk into the lobby - that said, you can still smell the signature Westin scent the moment you walk in the door. The rooms are nice, quiet and have great views. The beach is a perfect size for the hotel. Most of Cozumel’s western shore is rocky so it’s a treat to have some sand and a nice entry into the clear blue water for swimming and snorkeling. Location of the hotel is great too - located in the northern part of the hotel zone, it is quiet and away from the party atmosphere and cruisers that fill the island (when they resume cruises that is). In fact, this is our favorite place to stay on Cozumel so I’m not sure why I’m sharing our secret. The restaurants on the premises have good food, in fact you could not ask for a better place to have breakfast right on the Caribbean. We also love lobster house which is right across the street, which has great food and offers a change of atmosphere. If you want to head downtown, it is only a 7-10 taxi ride. For the return trip, schedule your COVID-19 ANTIGEN test for the day before you leave for about $30 - you have the results emailed to you in about 2 hours. As far as pandemic precautions are concerned, this hotel seems to be doing a better job than most of the places we have been to in the last year in the United States - we are impressed- and my wife and I are both in health care. The entire team at the Westin is muy excelente! Shout out to poolside waiters Alejandro And Gerardo they ran back and forth all day serving with a smile on their face and full of gratitude, remember your name and provide great service. You will be pleased as long as you remember you are in Mexico, on an island at a beautiful location.

The staff experience was as excellent. From checkin to food service to spa to house keeping; everyone was great. Marriott should be proud of their team at Westin Cozumel. We will return and we recommend this hotel.

I typically travel to Mexico 4-8 times per year. Mostly Playa del Carmen, Cancun, and Cozumel. My most recent visit being the Westin Cozumel March 26-31. The all inclusive stay was absolutely amazing. The food and menu selection were over the top. The grounds were immaculate and the rooms extraordinary. The friendly staff throughout were like a welcoming committee each and every day, willing and intent on making my stay perfect. There are so many staff folks to thank, that I can only list their names. But those listed here went above and beyond to make my stay, a vacation I’ll never forget! Daniela, Alejandro, Elizabeth, Sheila, Wilder, Imanol, & Jardiel. to these people I owe an extra “Thank you my friends” and because of you I will return! Rob Barrett Tyler, Texas

My husband sent me and a friend here for my birthday. The hotel is beautiful, beds are comfortable, Fernando the doorman was awesome! Very attentive. Our first day at the hotel was pretty good. Our room wasn't ready but they allowed us to change and use the pool and snack area. Our 2nd day we got massages that was fantastic! By the 3rd we went down to have breakfast and the food was so, so and the service was ok. We went out for the day and got back about 730pm. We decided to have a late dinner and went to the restaurant. We were seated right a way, but waited 15 minutes before someone came and gave us bread and a menu. We asked for 2 bottles of that never came, we waited another 15 minutes, and the we left. we decided to order room service. I called 3 times just to be hung up on. Finally the 4th time I called they said they would send up a code for us to scan for the menu in 5 minutes. A little frustrated with the process and inconvenience we still agreed. We figured they forgot so, we got ready for bed. By the time they came up it was almost 9pm. At this point we decided not to eat. The next morning we called down to have house keeping come up and clean and replenish, towels and empty trash. We came back to the room almost 8pm after a day of snorkeling to find that no one had been up to clean and restock towels. A bit irritated, I called down to ask for towels and house keeping a 2nd time. They said they would be right up. I started cleaning the room while my friend took a shower. I empty the trash, put the dirty towels out side the door and swept up dirt and hair, feeling like we didn't want anyone in the room while we were trying to shower. Someone came and knocked on the door 15 minutes later with no towels and did not take the dirty towels or trash. I called a 3rd time for someone to come with towels. My friend finished her shower and I waited another 10 minutes before I decided tp go down to the front desk for towels. As I was waiting for the elevator a young woman came up to me and looked confused as to what she needed to do. I asked her for towels and explained I had asked 3 times for house keeping and towels. I was obviously very irritated at this point. She ran up to get towels and finally got towels. She wanted to come in and clean, but I had already cleaned. Front desk called while I was in the shower and apologized and insisted they come tomorrow to clean. We shall see. I would like to come back but, I'm not sure I would stay here unless the westin were able to get the rest of their staff trained to help accommodate guest in a timely manner.

I cannot recommend this place if you want ANY kind of service ! No waiters on the beach, NO early check in (even if there is space ), charge for service animals , Only 4 umbrellas available on the beach, the bartenders took Of his mask to taste the sangria twice. For the price of almost $200 a night in Mexico it’s NOT worth it! If you come to relax abs get service .... DO NOT COME HERE!
