We checked in on Sunday, November 21. I was bringing my daughter to Cancun for her birthday. The woman who checked us in basically said, you have a nice view, but I have a better view to give you. The room was very nice, so was the view. On Monday morning, we discovered, that the nice lady, named Mariana, actually put us in a room directly NEXT DOOR to major construction. You basically have a room that is uninhabitable from 9am to 6pm. Obviously, this was unacceptable. I threw a fit. These rooms should never be given to any hotel guest, and should be blocked off completely. Took me five phone calls talking to five different folks who don’t seem to understand that Guest Service actually includes SERVICE. I have never dealt with a more uncooperative and basically rude upper management in a hotel. When my daughter went downstairs after seeing on the website there were other rooms available, the guy told her “then book it.” Finally get moved on Tuesday. The new room is beautiful, quiet, clean. My first 2 days at this hotel were awful. The last 3 pretty darn good. Basically disappointed neither the WEBSITE or the hotel lets you know that they have ongoing construction, and somehow… it is the guests problems. Disappointed we were lied about that no other rooms were available. My daughter and I are both gold members, but that is not the point. NO PAYING customer should have to put up with noise and bad attitudes. Some other comments. The room service is not very good. I ordered a cheeseburger that came with no cheese. I called and they said they would remedy that. I then called back and asked if I could just cancel because 20 minutes had gone by. The woman said the order was already in process. The server finally comes to the door and hands me 2 slices of cold cheese!!!🤣 I mean wtf? This is so far from any sort of luxury service, it’s ridiculous. How is this up to JW Marriott standards? The main pool is also plagued by the construction noise, but it’s not intolerable given that the pool was full. At the adult pool, there is no noise generally. The servers, valets, and regular staff were super nice and accommodating. The pool food was fine and the drinks were good, especially the non alcoholic smoothies. So basically, if you go, you should ask the front desk to put you nowhere near the construction noise. If you have to deal with the management, be firm and clear that you didn’t come on vacation to listen to jackhammers and drills. When I booked my vacation I had many choices of where to stay. If I had known there was ongoing construction and I would be paying for a room next to it, I never would have booked there. The hotel is not forthcoming on this and that is basically false advertising! Caveat Emptor. I have attached a video of the construction noise in my room. Ended up staying somewhere else after the front desk clerk started screaming at me for not having my husband's passport with me. That's even after I had told her I'd give it to her "in a few minutes." Her response [screaming in my face]: "When do you really plan to give it to me? An hour, two hours, in 10 days?" That was enough for me to run away. BTW, we had been staying there twice every year (except in 2020) for the last 10 years and nobody even asks for my passport anymore. We were there last May. Her demeanor changed only after she looked at my reservation and found out I am Titanium elite. If you treat me like that just by looking at my brown skin (and not knowing my Titanium status), I'll take my business elsewhere. No apology will be good enough to undo it. It’s about to find another Cancun hotel that would take my $20k yearly! People need to boycott this hotel!

The JW Marriott is a beautiful property in Cancun. We loved the location which is right at the beginning of the hotel zone and close to lots of restaurants and activities. Our room was pleasant with an ocean view. The resort features lots of activities and some nice shopping. We were pleased with our stay.

We (2 adults, one 2.5 year`s old child) stayed at JW Marriott Cancun for 12 nights in November 2021. The room (Deluxe room with sea view) was spacious, modern (thanks to recent renovation) and very clean. We felt really comfortable. Most of the time we spent at the pool area which provided enough chairs and loungers. There are not so many loungers at the beach available but you reach the beach from the pool deck easily via some steps. All staff members were very friendly and we felt welcome at any time. During the last days, there has been worked some huge tents and an open air dining area for a private event. This was a little bit disturbing but no bigger issue. We also booked a one day trip in the hotel to the pyramides in Chichen Itza. Although the sights, we have visited, were interesting it was some kind of a promotional trip. The guide tried to sell a personal maya calendar in the bus, later on maya spirits (with a personal picture) have been promoted, we have stopped for lunch at a camp, where several products have been sold, etc. This was not what we have expected and we recommend to try another provider (ours was 8th wonder). I am aware that tour organizer was not the hotel, but this tour was sold within the hotel... Beside that, our stay was really nice and we would like to thank JW Marriott Cancun for a very relaxing and nice stay!

We just had a wonderful time [7 nights] at JW Marriot Cancun. The property is beautiful, clean and well organised. The staff at the frontdesk, restaurants, beach, pool, car parking etc. is really friendly and helpful. They also take the Covid measures serieusly. The breakfast was delicious and the service as well. The restaurant for eg. Sasi Thai was fabilous. I had the Shrimp Pad Thai which I can highly recommend. There was also live music. The room was clean as well the bed. We had a pool and oceanview. The shower and bath is clean and enough space for 2 persons. In General: The value was excellent compared to other prices we had seen and we found the quality/value and atmosphere worth for our money. The place was lovely and the staff very attentive.
