Preface -we booked five rooms. 10 adults, 2 children. 5 days, 4 nights The Good: Wait Staff (Reyes & Sebastian) were some of the best Mexico has to offer. The wait staff did such a phenomenal job of remembering requests and keeping our drinks full. We had a large group with many different requests and the waiters met everyone’s needs as quickly as possible. The beach was clean and a short walk from the hotel. The Mexican restaurant & sushi spot were hands down the best daytime/evening eats. Breakfast buffet is large. Ruth at the spa does an exceptional job administering massage. The resort has nice curb appeal and offers modern rooms. COVID testing is scheduled at check in. Takes about 30-40 minutes because even though you are scheduled you have to wait in line. Results in 20 minutes. The Bad: Check In for 5 rooms (all arrived together) took about an hour and a half beginning at 2pm on a Wednesday. FOOD-Lunch restaurants (Seaside grill, healthy poolside grill, hamburger/hotdog restaurant, pizza place) do not open until 12pm everyday. Hours are not posted on front of restaurants or in pamphlets. You won’t know the timings of anything unless you go to the front desk and write it down yourself. Menus can be found using the fiesta Americana app or with scanned QR codes. From past experiences, I am understanding that an all-inclusive resort includes the full range of food to be eaten/drinks. Each dinner restaurant (AND THE DINNER BUFFET) have a small selection of appetizers and meals that are included. The other half of the menu is FOR PURCHASE. We are talking all steaks other than 2 at the steak restaurant, specialty dishes (basically not pasta) at the Italian restaurant, oysters and lobster at the seaside grill….coconut water poolside…..all for an additional cost. A thing to add is that all of these items CANNOT be charged to your room. You must pay cash OR credit card upon receipt. U S DOLLARS are not accepted for payment in cash, MUST be MEXICAN PESOS. Very, very inconvenient and frustrating at an ‘all-inclusive’ resort. DRINKS-Mixed drinks are watered down. If you ask for a specific brand (we asked for Don Julio shots), the staff will say, ‘Tequila?’ And not bring you whatever brand of whatever alcohol you asked for. Considering we were traveling with liquor store owners, this was painfully obvious to us. NO ALCOHOL 11PM-11AM. Read that again. That means, NO mimosa or Bloody Mary or baileys and coffee at breakfast. We were able to somehow get mimosas at breakfast on a Thursday but FRI-SUN for sure you will not be served alcohol anywhere in the property before 11am. MINIBAR- An advertised mini bar is just not even real. When you arrive, there is a fridge in your room stocked with 3-4 Coca-Cola, 1 Diet Coke, 2 sprite, 2 Canada Dry soda water, 2-4 bottles of water and 3 beers. Some of our group called to have more beers delivered to the room and some were told no and others yes. No liquor stocked in the room. POOLS: Pools are barely heated. The hot tubs are warm not hot. There are heaters on the upper pool that can be felt with your feet near the water falls but we only found them to be on once in the entire 5 days we were here and swimming in the pool. Cold cold cold. This resort is NOT stroller friendly. Plan to carry your stroller up/down to the beach through restaurants. The Ugly: FIRE: I’ll keep this short. Apparently there was a fire in the basement somewhere. Reports of smoke smell and chemical smells were made by many. The fire alarms went off for about 3 hours. All guests were evacuated about AN HOUR AFTER the alarms had started. The staff doing the evacuation of tourists did not speak English (not even a little). I think that the resort could have AT LEAST had a manager or English speaker present for the evacuation instructions considering this resort has a considerable amount of non-Spanish speakers staying. You were not allowed to go back in your room. FOOD AND DRINK WAS NOT AVAILABLE DURING THE EVACUATION. The entire staff stayed to one side of the beach. If you need water, you would have to just force your way back onto the resort grounds and find a staff member to find you some water bottles. Imagine being stuck outside of your resort under the sun with your baby for hours on end and no one even offering you water just for your own safety. There seemed to be no protocol or standard for a fire evacuation. AIR CONDITIONING: Day 1 we could cool our room down to 18C, day 2 evening our room was set at 18C all day but was 22-22.5C. We called in the morning and maintenance came to check it out. Told us to call the front desk in an hour. Then there was a giant evacuation and apparently an electrical fire? (Unsure on actual problem) so we didn’t return to our room until evening where it was still 22.5C. Maintenance came again and held a phone up to vent and the phone app said it was blowing 18.5C…..I was irritated at that point (traveling with a child UNDER ONE) and headed to front desk . Husband and I went to the front desk FIVE TIMES to have our AC fixed or moved to a room where it will work. They sent a fan and de-humidifier to our room on the 4th visit and offered us a new room on the 5th visit. At that time were FINALLY notified that the ENTIRE resort did not have AC/WiFi OR HOT WATER. ELEVATOR NIGHTMARE: Our cousins, traveling with their 1.5 year old took an elevator down for dinner after the whole evacuation day. The resort seemed to be running ‘normal’ at this time. We took an elevator down to go to dinner. They took one in the same building 20 minutes later. They texted us from the elevator that when they pressed the L floor (main level) the elevator went up to 7 and then would not move. They reselected the L floor. The elevator went down a couple floors, the door began to open and stopped. They went to pull the door open the rest of the way and it DROPPED to the next floor with doors part way open. 3 adults and 1 toddler on board. Obviously the mother became frantic and terrified. Staff came to get them after pressing the emergency button on board. They offered apologies and that was that. HOT WATER: there was no hot water at the resort for at least 12 hours. The front desk would say,’ it’ll be on in five minutes’ and it would (obviously) not come on. FOOD: THIS LOCATION IS NOT VEGETARIAN FRIENDLY. If you are vegetarian or vegan, just go elsewhere. The staff does not and for whatever reason cannot accommodate this. You will be disappointed if you require any special diet and come to this resort. ALL of this garbage and the resort did not once offer or accept our requests to give us a credit, refund, or coupon for the spa, food, or stay (literally nothing, barely even apologies on behalf of the resort). And it is important to mention that a manager of the resort (Daniel) CAME INTO OUR ROOM WITH MY HUSBAND and simply said that 21C is the preset temperature for the entire resort and he cannot give us money back or even cover the spa treatments we had already received. The fact that we had a manager at the point where he was checking on our room and still offered us no solution for our (many) troubles was astounding. This resort will take and keep your money and give you a frustrating experience in return. Book elsewhere.

I was asked to review this resort with an unsponsored, unbiased opinion. 10 nights at the resort gave me a very good look at the overall resort and it overall exceeded my expectations. The beach-absolutely beautiful and very well maintained. Plenty of chairs and small palapas to be had. The water is beautiful and the sand is very soft. The food-sooo many great options. The favorites were the Thai and the outdoor seafood lunch restaurant but the pizza, sushi, taco/empanada, Italian, Mexican, steak restaurants were all very very good. The buffet was also very good, lots of great options. The service-WOW! Nadia (her attention to detail), the waitress at the pool area was exceptional as was Pedro (his customer skills are top) at the main bar, Juan Jose-waiter (what a personality) and Manuel (went above and beyond) at the taqueria. Top notch staff!! The room-fantastic view with great balcony. A large shower and bath area and the air conditioning worked well. The rooms were up to date and had a great mattress. The pool decks-very expansive with two great levels and a lot of chairs to be found that were in excellent condition. Towel service was great and easy to get drink service anywhere around the pool. The only big negative-the pool itself was outdated and beat up. The patch work on the pool looks like it was done by a 5 year old. It needs a full remodel and the hot tubs-absolutely disgusting and need to be replaced. Of any improvements on the beautiful grounds, this needs to be the focus-ASAP.

There was a FIRE in the hotel: fire alarms and evacuation took up the middle of the day. No WiFi, elevators and rolling blackouts took up the afternoon. We decided to leave on the same day at night and booked a new hotel. Fiesta hotel front desk (Roberto and santos) lied to us, were rude and refused our refund. After a lengthy argument, we left to the new hotel. This was by far the worst travel experience I have heard about, let alone experienced. Additionally, the rooms had a powerful sewage smell and my initial room had to be changed. The majority of the staff were rude. Let just say, not a normal Mexico vacation if you are used to coming to here consistently.

New Years at the Condesa By Peg939 Wonderful 8 day stay at the best resort in Cancun, Fiesta Americana Condesa All Inclusive. We arrived on Christmas Days to a beautiful decorated Condesa! We had not visited the Condesa since December 2019 because of Covid. We could not wait! The visit was everything we had been waiting for. We were met by Luis and Fernanda - our check-in was so efficient and were at the pool within an hour of our arrival. We had a fun time on New Years Eve. The Pool area was beautiful and the band was great! People ask us why do we go to the Condesa - why don't we try another resort. Easy question to answer the employees! Starting with Luis, Fernanda and Pablo - all three are rising stars at the Condesa - to Isidro, Nadia, Oliver, Felix, Pedro, Claudio, Kary, Emi, Rodolfo, Angel, Henry, Neimosa, Uriah, Hugo, Alex, JJ. Jose, Juan, Miguel, Erique, Jairo. These are al employees who have been at the Condesa for many years. Matter of fact, we have been going to the Condesa for over 22 years - sometimes twice a year. I would recommend the Condesa to anyone. The hotel and pool are super clean. The pool is warm and you don't have to fight for a chair at the pool. Everyone treats you like family. I have said this many times, customer service is second to none at the Condesa. The Condesa has strict Covid Polices and I felt safe. We also met Sergio who is the General Manager at the Condesa. He took the time out of his busy schedule to introduce himself to the guests at the pool. Activities was great - Dani, Eduardo, All and all we had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back.
