We were a large group and we went for an early dinner. The service was very good, and the food just OK. The place is very nice; a bit contemporary Hacienda style with very large gardens so if you bring your children they may run and have a great time. Prices are goo you may expect to pay about 25...

This spot was out of the way but worth finding. An old Spanish hacienda with beautiful gardens. We had a lovely lunch in their restaurant. Service was very attentive- a bit slow but the meal delightful. We tried the onion soup, medallions with pepper sauce and large shrimp with tequila. Yummmy... Wine list was not that good Will try the...

Partly our fault for not making reservations ahead of time, we were left with El Parador or else noisy, alcohol rich restaurants in town. We came to visit El Parador which sits a bit outside the city center and were impressed by the beautiful construction and the extremely lovely and gracious gardens. So we dove in and returned for New...

We went for a special dinner during Christmas to the restaurant of "el parador San Juan de Dios" and were very shocked! The dinner costs 750 Mxn per person, food was ok but the location absolutely not adequate for this level of hotel and this price level considering average Mexican dinner prices. At 10°C outside temperature, they gave us a...

We stayed four wonderful nights at this enchanted place. Each room is different but all are spacious and comfortable. It is about 10 min ride by taxi from downtown which may be a minus but on the other hand you enjoy the quiet and the peace not offered in more centrally located hotels. Staff is very friendly and the whole...

Remembering when this was the Harvard Ranch, a center for students and anthropologists doing fieldwork in SCLC in the 60s-80s. Third time I've (just) eaten in its restaurant, a long block behind the famous Na Bolom. Beautiful grounds, relaxing restaurant with background music. Since we were the only ones in the restaurant for lunch, a bit surprising how slow attention...

This hotel is set on a large property with beautiful gardens. It is very private, peaceful and quiet as it is about a 5 minute drive out of town. The reception staff are excellent, they speak basic English and were very helpful with anything we needed during our stay. The rooms were full of character with a king sized very...

This is the third time we visit this Hotel. Very nice rooms. Each one with chimney. Service is very very good. It has a small art museum at the rear of the hotel. The only thing bad about this hotel is that is not close to san cristobal town. At least not in a walking distance. Rather than that it's...

After a long, long car road trip from Comitan to San Cristobal, we finally got into the Parador San Juan de Dios and we couldn't be more thankful. This place is BEAUTIFUL, colonial style, hacienda feeling, lush green gardens, 19th century feel with modern commodities, attentive staff, great service. Really, couldn't ask for more. Chiapas is one of the most...

The moment you step onto this hacienda estate, a peaceful feeling settles over you. It's like you've stepped into another world, a retreat. We checked out several places in town for our wedding, and decided on San Juan. We are so glad we did. The adobe rooms are beautiful, upscale, one-of-a-kind. I had family coming in from the U.S. and...
