This is one of my all-time favorite museum experiences. This former home of Danish archeologist/engineer Frans Blom and his wife photographer, journalist, and the Swiss German journalist and environmental activist Gertrude Duby Blom. Currently this site operates a hotel, museum, and research center run by the Asociacion Cultural Na Bolom, a non-profit organization devoted to the protection of Lacandon Maya...

The colonial vibe of this historic place is one of kind. Really friendly staff and beautiful surroundings! We stayed here for three nights which was an absolute joy. Thank you Na Bolom and of course Frans Blom ;) the founder of this place if understood it correctly

The hotel is in the museum and you get a free tour so you can't have a better way to see Casa Na Bolom than staying here. The hotel is clean and functional but basic. I highly recommend it! Make sure that you put your breakfast in the bill of the hotel and that you tell the people at checkout...

Two nights two different rooms. Two very different experiences. Well worth it if you're staying in one of their suites w a fireplace. Here the rustic charm works and it's a pleasure. I don't recommend if you're staying in one of the basic rooms. The one I stayed in could use some TLC. I felt uncomfortable with the condition of...

My wife ane I stayed five nights at this classic piece of history in San Cristobal. We stayed in the Oxchuc room, which is in the back of building. We fell in love with this hotel/musuem as soon as we walked through the main entrance. Everything on the inside is a piece of history - photographs, library, and dining area....

Na Bolom takes your breath away with the history behind the hotel and cultural center, founded by 2 Europeans more than 60 years ago. Since then Na Bolom have supported the local indigenous population in numerous ways and there is an interesting museum and a big library available with a lot of unique books and writings on lacandon jungle and...

This was one of the coziest hotels that I've ever stayed in. Rustic, lots of greenery all around us and the friendliest staff. The guided tour of the museum (included with your stay) was very thorough and informative. It is good to see that they are continuing the legacy that Trudy and Frans Blom started. Highly recommended!

Na Bolom took care of us when we were ill, fed us good breakfast whenever we wanted, and provided us with a sweet, cozy room overlooking the garden. Paradise, basically. Someday, I hope to come back. Prices are right, food is good, and, if you want something special, book the room with the king bed and whirlpool. Worth it!!!

Fascinating history, and interesting property. We made reservations for dinner...set price, and set menu. Served family style. The dinner was very good, service excellent. The property is cold with an open square in the middle, but the dining room had a nice fireplace and with doors closed we were comfortable. We were told by our guide that you can stay...

1st thing is that the museum is quite fascinating and enjoyable. The hotel itself has more of a feel of a hostel than hotel. Staff were not too personable probably due to the fact that they are dealing with visitors all day. Place needs a coat of paint and showing a lot of wear and tear. A pity because it...
