Staying at La Casona de Tita is like going back in time. The house is a jewel in the city of Oaxaca: intimate, personal and warm. The hotel is a great example of colonial Mexican architecture. Its location could not be better. La Casona de Tita is a peaceful retreat located at walking distance from the Zocalo. Perfect to rest after sharing the vibrant energy of this beautiful town. The rooms are airy and spacious, and the bathrooms are large and functional. I specially loved the beautiful shower: plenty of space, privacy and peace. The kindness and warmth of each person who works at La Casona de Tita makes you feel at home, welcome and appreciated. They are available at all times and always looking to help you in any possible way. Breakfast are so delicious, you will wish to have it for lunch and dinner.

A friend and I spent five nights at this hotel over Dia de los Muertos. We had an awesome stay! The place only has six rooms that are all accessible from a beautiful open air atrium. Rooms are gorgeous, spacious and kept in Colonial style with some modern art accents. Only the bathroom was a bit small and the shower not state of the art (cheap showerhead instead of modern rain shower, temperature unstable). In spite of Corona, they had daily house keeping (which does not go without saying - even at top range Marriott brands like the Luxury Collection, you currently have to ask explicitly and then chase them). Covid-19 was taken seriously - upon arrival, the staff sprayed our luggage with disinfectant and each time on entering your temperature was taken and you were given hand sanitizer. Service was also great - staff was knowledgable, mostly very fluent in English, professional and very eager to help. Breakfast is a la carte with plenty of choices and freshly made to order for you. Needless to say, it was always yummy! I think it‘s also possible to have breakfast here if you‘re not staying at the hotel. Overall, I can fully recommend the hotel and will certainly stay again next time (if they have availability - during my previous two stays in Oaxaca, they were already fully booked, so I reserved a year in advance this time ;-))

Hotel La Casona De Tita was perfection. Six lovely guest rooms surrounding a large courtyard filled with interesting art work, a place for a plentiful and delicious breakfast each morning or anytime to relax, on a quiet street but only three blocks away from the historic center of this magnificent town (city). The concierge staff was warm and helpful and felt like family by the end of our four day stay. Our room (#4) was specious and comfortable and the bathroom was large and nicely apportioned. Despite its small size, services were plentiful, including arranging airport transportation, local tours, restaurant reservations and providing general information. We would love to return to our "home" in Oaxaca.

We stayed here for 8 nights in November. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The location is great because it is a short walk to the central tourist area but a quiet area of the downtown. The hotel provides very personal service and a choice of many breakfast dishes is included. The staff is very helpful and arranged two day trips out of Oaxaca with Edgar, who is an excellent tour guide with his own car.
