Casa catrina a colonial oaxacan family home, has been beautifully renovated to create a new hospitality venue within the heart of vibrant and colorful oaxaca city. This quaint hotel is the brainchild of noted oaxacan artist Rolando Rojas, an internationally renowned painter.Six guestrooms are distributed around a central courtyard where exquisite full oaxacan breakfast can be enjoyed. While guestrooms ares similar in design, decor in each is based on a unique color scheme that matches the artwork that is featured in each accommodation.

This is an absolutely lovely hotel. The staff were really kind, and the room was large and bright with the most stunning terrace. They treated me, my pup, and my friend very well. Will definitely consider staying here again. I can't recommend it enough!

A converted historic house very close to the centre of Oaxaca. No bar or restaurant but so easy to walk to the many roof top bars and restaurants around the Cathedral complex. The rooms are really nicely decorated and furnished but unfortunately due to the old building many lack much daylight. Breakfast (fruit, pastries plus a Mexican and eggs menu) is served in the covered central courtyard.

Stayed 6 nights. Service is great. Continental Breakfast with home baked bread and fresh fruit, of course coffee. They are good. We ordered bacon and egg and quesadillas etc a few mornings in addition. The room is large and comfortable. So is the bath room. Every bedroom has a painting(s) of Rolando Rajas. Fantastic. Though the hotel is on the major street leading to the city center, it was quiet. Location is convenient, about 6 blocks from the city center. If you want to stay closer to the center, hotel Catrina de Alcalá is the choice. It’s less than a block from the center. We enjoyed our stay very much.

Nice location and beautiful room. We had a balcony patio that was very romantic if you know what I mean. At night we could be all alone. Very big. Overall wonderful stay, we would go back. Good choice.
