Attractive hotel with leafy courtyard filled with colourful birdcages complete with singing birds. The friendly restaurant served meals here if required. Our king room was large and comfortable. Staff were all really excellent, nice terraces to relax on, and it is right in the centre close to everything. We would stay here again most certainly!

A wave of beautifully restored old colonial houses converted into boutique hotels full of flair and charm is breaking over Oaxaca - this hotel is not one of them. While it is squeaky clean and offers all the amenities, the decor is dark and feels tired. Rooms are small, stuffed with dark wood and wrought iron furniture, small art hangs...

We just returned from sending two weeks on Oaxaca. We stayed in this hotel last year and were happy to return again this year. The hotel staff is gracious, friendly, and very helpful with just about anything you need. We arrived late on a Saturday evening, and the hotel was able to exchange a small amount of money for us...

I loved this hotel. It was comfortable, and beautifully decorated with flowers, plants, ornaments, and birds in cages. The rooms contained more than we could have hoped for - they must have been recently renovated because there were plenty of outlets - and even USB outlets! It's just a short walk (5 min) to the zócalo or to the main...

This hotel had been booked for us by Llama Travel as part of our tour of archaeological sites in Mexico. It looks a little unpromising from the outside but once inside you can appreciate the style of the building and the fittings and furnishings which make this a great place to stay. The bedroom is a good size with a...

When visiting Oaxaca because of my job, I like to stop here at the Parador San Miguel. Its a beautiful place very near from down town and a walking distance from the best restaurantes in place. Services are quite good and the rooms are good enough to rest after a working day in town. They also have nice terraces if...

We stayed two nights and the staff couldn't have done more to assist us, they were great. Accommodation was great value. We didn't have a fridge in our room but when we asked, one appeared moments later!

Room was clean and spacious. Air-conditioning and wifi throughout. Location is good - close to Zocalo and restaurants. Staff were helpful and assisted in booking great tours. Only issue is that the noise from the hotel and street can easily be heard from the rooms. We were woken on numerous occasions from noise.

Highly recommended. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are nicely decorated in a traditional Mexican style and superbly clean. Nice restaurant, although the city has so many offerings nearby that it's impossible to eat there more than once. I will certainly stay in the same hotel next time I visit the city of Oaxaca.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
With a privileged location, 20 minutes from the airport. In the historical downtown area, only a half block from the Central Alameda. The beautiful colonial-style building has three floors with 23 rooms, including four suites.Located on one of the main avenues in the city, the facade had a grand entry door of carved cedar, opening to a lovely porch with a statue of St. Michael the Archangel.A wrought iron gate opens to the hotel vestibule, where walls of ochre, terra-cotta, beige and cream combine with dark green ironwork and green granite columns to provide a dramatic backdrop for the brilliant bougainvillea and geraniums that thrive in the home's central patio. From here you can catch a hint of the spellbinding flavors of our Oaxacan kitchen. In "La Cocina" you can choose a magical dish to your specifications.Small gardens lead to the first level rooms. A majestic green granite stairway crowned with glorious stained glass leads to the second and third levels. On the second level terrace, you could relax or sunbathe accompanied by canaries in a kaleidoscope of multicolored flowers. ... more   less
