Sometimes it's not just about the amenities, location and aesthetics. Sometimes it's about the people. My family of four (my wife and two young children) showed up on New Year's Eve in Oaxaca, wrung-out and emotionally fragile from a gruelling trip down from El Paso with an

Stayed here as part of an Intrepid tour. Although rooms were clean, they were very basic - we had to ask for towels and water, and staff were not particularly accommodating. Although breakfast was good, the beds were extremely hard and at checkout we were charged a lot of money

We stayed here as part of an Intrepid trip and thought it was a lovely little hotel. Beautiful courtyard and rooftop area which was great for groups. Rooms were basic but clean and breakfast was up there with the best we had the entire time we were in Mexico.

About how far from the beach?
Se puede viajar en van a Pochutla o Puerto Escondido o Huatulco en un promedio de 6 horas, la carretera es sinuosa aunque solo son 300kms. La segunda opción es volar por Aerotucan en un vuelo por la mañana unicamente.

is there on site parking?
is there a discount for longer stays?
I tried to answer twice so hopefully this time the answer will be published! The last time I stayed (nov 21,22 2014) it cost 550 pesos for two people (i.e. under 40 USD) for one single and one double bed and private bathroom. Best wishes, Mahsa

"Go to a different hotel...that's my tip."
"Rooms with bathrooms are worth the extra"
"This is basic lodging. If you want to sleep in, ask for a room away from the street as local life gets going early."
"Any will be fine!"
