We stayed here with our two kids- 8yo and 2yo in the master double suite (Room #9). It had two bedrooms, a generous living area, a small kitchen and dining area. The room was underground but still got good light and it was nice and cool when we’d return from long walks in the sun. The staff was very nice and accommodating; we had a late afternoon flight and they generously allowed us to check out late. The breakfasts each morning were so good and plentiful that we skipped lunch most days! We got a mezcalina (best cocktail I had in Oaxaca) from the bar and ordered room service- both worth it. Our only complaint would be the that the wifi was weak in the suite. There’s another room directly above so not sure if someone had been staying there whether we would’ve heard them (as other comments pointed out). It’s about a 10min walk from the downtown area but it’s a really pleasant walk by cute stores! If you get tired of Oaxaca cuisine, we really enjoyed getting takeout from the sachi-ta Japanese restaurant which wasn’t too far away. We ordered from them twice during our weeklong stay!

We just stayed here and were amazed by the quality of service, from the hotel manager to the cleaning staff to the bartender to the waiters. Everyone was great. They also have implemented some very good COVID prevention standards. The hotel itself is small but very nicely laid out with lots of vegetation inside and a modern design in each area. Food is great too. Location-wise it's just a few blocks away from the city center, just a few minutes of walking. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

The previous great reviews were well-founded, and we enjoyed our stay immensely. Here were the highlights: - Wonderful staff throughout, friendly, very helpful, and very good at their jobs. - Lovely setting and very quiet, with beautiful plants and trees. - Very comfortable suite with everything we could want, including very nice furnishings and decorations, and an excellent bathroom. - Great location away from the bustle of the main town, but close enough to walk to the main city sites and some excellent restaurants. - Secure locked garage parking for our rental car. - Delicious breakfasts under the trees, with plenty of choices.

We loved everything about our stay here. The location was perfect -- short walk to everything, but in a quiet side street. Nice breakfast served every morning outside. Mimi is the very friendly breakfast server. We were in room 14 which is right above the reception area, and we never heard any noise (as someone below complained about). The front desk staff were very helpful with directions, and with arranging a taxi that took us around outside of the city for 6 hours. Went to Monte Alban and some artisan villages for $250 Pesos/hour. Excellent air conditioning, which was necessary throughout our stay. Complimentary 4 bottles of water daily helped us stay hydrated in the hot Mexican sun.

Our stay at this modern, pretty boutique hotel was great on every count except one. When we checked in, the junior suite we were assigned was on the ground floor and v dark. We were travelling with another couple who had paid the same price. Their room was above ours and much nicer. So we asked to change. The guy on the desk who handled this is called Manuel. At first, he tried to suggest that we had not paid for the same quality room which was untrue. He was clearly unaccommodating and does not have a customer first service mindset. Long story short, we were given the room next to our friends which worked much better for us. And was more comfortable all around. This only happened because we pushed back and the assistant manager shifted to our old room. The rest of our stay was great. The staff are very obliging, cheerful and go out of their way to accommodate your requests. It’s a pretty spot close to the Centro which is about 10 minutes walk. Facilities are adequate. Breakfast is good and served with a smile in your room or out in the garden. Evening drinks are also well mixed and served there. A piece of advice for the management of the hotel. While Manuel speaks English well, he has the manners of a child. Every day after check in, there was no ‘good morning’ for myself or my wife, just monosyllabic grunts. He couldn’t have been more surly or sulky. If this was my operation, I would be sending him for training or reassigning him to a part of the hotel where he has less interaction with guests. Seriously. Oaxaca was a wonderful stop on our Mexican travels. We will return. We would even consider staying in El Callejon again, if Manuel is not working there.
