On our first stay to Mexico City hostel - we were initially disappointed. It's a beautiful hostel, offers all the facilities you would need and has such a fantastic central location. The issue was - it wasn't very social and at times we found the...More
I was a nice place friendly staff, very cheap, close to metro stations great room view to the zocalo, the guard Bernardo was very helpful on getting directions to go everywhere definitely the best place to stay in Mexico

I really enjoyed the overall central feeling location of this hostel. It was 2 blocks from public transit and a block from their government center. With in a 10 minute walk you could find all of the shopping that you wanted, stores, bars, etc.
The beating heart of the city lies within Centro Histórico, the vast expanse of historical buildings and monuments that are a must when exploring Mexico City. Places such as the Museo Biblioteca Palacio Postal, Casa de los Azulejos and Palacio de Bellas Artes are the perfect eye candy for anyone seeking to admire arts and architecture. Don't forget to visit the wide variety of markets and plazas where any
vintage item, handicrafts and jewelry characteristic of each state in Mexico can be found on Sundays. Admire majestic views of the city from the Monumento a la Revolución and Torre Latinoamericana, and round out the experience with restaurants of all cuisines nearby.

Oops, 6 months later and I see the question. Sorry!
It was about 20min or so. We took a taxi that we booked at the hotel. He was really awesome, and knew a lot about the city. Do's and don'ts of the area.
