We read good things about this hostel in Lonely Planet, but I must admit this couldn't be more wrong. The rooms were not separated by actual walls, there is an open space to the other rooms right under the "ceiling" (which was a plastic cover), so you can hear what everybody is talking about all the time. Aka we didn't...

This place could be so much better - it's cheap, has 24 hour reception (the only reason I went there because I arrived in Guanajuato at 5 in the morning after a killer 42 hours on the road), a nice terrace, it's right in the centre of town, has an ok kitchen...but the bathroom could be a lot cleaner, the...

This hostel is perfectly located for visiting museums, parks, churchs, and the University, but beware the street noise. Despite wearing earplugs, I didn't sleep for the two nights I was there until everyone finally went home at 4am. The dorm rooms were typical with lockers and bunk beds. I appreciated the female and male only bathrooms, when the guys noticed...

Stayed here for 3 days only because I loved Guanajuato so much, but the accommodation was by far the worst part of my stay in this lovely city. Staff are unfriendly, tried to block me from bringing a friend into the room even though I paid for another person, then tried to get more money out of me for having...

I stayed in this hostel for more than 2 weeks and it was good times here. The reception staff is very friendly and helpful, and the house is a very clean place. There is a kitchen that can be used as well as a huge terrace to hang out. Breakfast is included and there is a computer which can be...

I might be too old to go to continue going to hostels, but this one definitely tipped me towards never-again. There was only one bathroom upstairs for women, and it wasn't exactly the cleanest (but I might just be difficult). They were very kind and put us in a room that normally holds more people for a good price, and...

Centrally located, close to everything; main attractions and bus stop. Staffs were really nice, breakfast was ok. Good place to meet people. But it was extremely loud at night from 2 clubs and loud at early morning from cars engines, so basically time for sleep was between 3am 7am. Without rug, bathroom was really dirty.

We took the private room with the bathroom inside the room. It was actually located behind the kitchen and could hear everything that was going on in the next room (the rooms are not seperated by a real wall actually). The room is a hole in the ground floor of the hotel, very small with a window in the upper...

Casa el tio is a friendly, clean hostel less than min walk to the main square. The rooms are simple but clean, and there is free wifi, drinking water, cooking facilities, lockers (deposit required for the lock) and continental breakfast. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
