I'd give a higher than excellent rating if possible. Staying at Casa de Estrella is like staying at the home of a cool friend with excellent taste. Sharon is extremely gracious and helpful. The decor is beautiful and features the work of local artists including the ceramicists Capelo and La Cruz. Their studios are in walking distance (steep hill). Javier...

This beautiful inn is more like a visit to a good friend's home but one with fantastic views and great food (breakfast only). Sharon, the owner, is delightful and filled us in on the history of the region, good places to eat, shop and visit in Guanajuato. The town is filled with things to do, the Cervantes Museo and the...

My husband and I needed a getaway and found that Casa Estrella was just what we needed. Nestled in the mountains, the B & B might as well be a 5 star hotel. The rooms have everything you need and are beautifully appointed. The staff is wonderful and Chaquita, the resident Chihuahua, will only delight you. The town of Guanjuato...

The only rational reason for me (or anyone else) to recommend that you should not to stay at Casa Estrella is because we are trying to keep it for ourselves. Everything everyone said in the previous reviews is true, and Guanajuato is a superlative place. We are currently trying to convince everyone who we love to spend time with to...

After three weeks of working/traveling throughout Mexico, staying in some of the best hotels and inns Mexico has to offer, I can say without a doubt that Casa Estrella de la Valenciana wins first prize for the MOST COMFORTABLE BEDS and BEST BATHTUBS of all. I slept better there than anywhere else on my entire trip and I am still...

Our stay at Casa Estrella was magical from the moment we arrived until the final second of our departure. We arrived early in the day to find our rooms ready and our magnificent hostess, Sharon, greeting us with open arms. Every room(and we saw them all) is lovely, clean and full of ammenities. The breakfasts prepared by chef, Javier, were...

Guanajuato and the surrounding area is beautiful beyond compare, and Casa Estrella is the ideal hillside home-base from which to explore. Our few days were wonderful, but a week would have been better as there is so much art and history and culture to absorb, day and night. And just relaxing at Casa Estrella and enjoying the view is a...

We were so very impressed with the style and authenticity of this beautiful inn. The setting, attention to detail, use of local artisans and warm reception were unparrelled. A definite must for those who want affordable elegance in an interesting city.

Few places live up to their promotional material. Casa Estrella not only lives up to it's promotions, but even exceeds them. I was totally blown away with this place. My wife wants to go back to Mexico just to stay at Casa Estrella again. As much as I love sight seeing and exploring new places, when we were out exploring...

“Anything we needed they took care of. Did not use a fitness area, so cannot elaborate on that point. Safe neighborhood - we walked a lot, and taxis were easily accessible as well. We stayed in quarters that were separated from the main part of the house. It was quiet. At night a nice breeze. Ceiling fans if needed, but we didn't need them. Jetted tub and shower in our bath was nice too. Luscious linens and very well appointed with art and artifacts from throughout Mexico. Satellite TV was nice when we wanted to watch an NBA playoff game. Lots of quarters so great for groups and they can cater - we will think about it in the future for a group getaway or wedding. The Inn is high on the hillside away from the city center so it is much quieter than downtown. They city is VERY loud with noise until late at night, and sometimes we could hear the music drift even up to the hill top at night - but it was pleasant. Down in the center of town I don't think we would have gotten much sleep.”
