We have been doing a 21 day tour of Mexico, and have stayed at several hotels. Casa Estrella de la Valenciana was definitely our favorite! We so thoroughly enjoyed our stay and we cannot say enough praise about Javier, Angelica, Antonio and Corni! Our stay was safe, comfortable, friendly and really an extension of home away from home with all... More

We stayed at the Casa Estrella for 11 nights as a "base" to visit Guanajuato as well as other neighboring towns/cities during our vacation. Even though it a short taxi ride ($4-5 USD each way) to get into the Centro, the accommodations were very much worth the mild inconvenience. Our room was the San Bernades--beautiful, CLEAN and loads of room... More

My parents and I travelled the short bus ride from San Miguel de Allende to Guanajuato for a three-day getaway together. I am already a huge fan of San Miguel and the area, but this was a very happy and special time. The staff are so warm and welcoming... you feel as though you are guest in their home. The... More

The property is just lovely, as it appears in the pictures, and the views are amazing, especially from the outdoor breakfast table. We were taken great care of by the staff, who were all friendly and helpful, and the breakfast ladies are great cooks! We just returned from a delightful week at Casa Estrella. It far exceeded our expectations -- nothing was too much for Sharon the owner: My wife needed meds on the first night so she sent a taxi to pick them up -- and refused to charge us! Our bags got lost en route and Sharon diligently followed up and tracked... More

I was very impressed with the hotel. Not only is it beautiful and tastefully decorated, it is very well maintained. My room (I stayed in Cata) was clean and quiet, the bed and pillows were fantastic, which made sleeping very comfortable, and breakfasts were plentiful and delicious. I found the staff to be very professional and friendly - nothing was... More

What a wonderful place. the view, the interior, the warm and welcoming staff. You feel instantly at home here. The whole place is at such a scale that it never feels like a hotel. I regret that the steam room did not heat properly for you. When we tested it, the steam was fully functioning in about 5 minutes, so I am not sure what happened. “Anything we needed they took care of. Did not use a fitness area, so cannot elaborate on that point. Safe neighborhood - we walked a lot, and taxis were easily accessible as well. We stayed in quarters that were separated from the main part of the house. It was quiet. At night a nice breeze. Ceiling fans if needed, but we didn't need them. Jetted tub and shower in our bath was nice too. Luscious linens and very well appointed with art and artifacts from throughout Mexico. Satellite TV was nice when we wanted to watch an NBA playoff game. Lots of quarters so great for groups and they can cater - we will think about it in the future for a group getaway or wedding. The Inn is high on the hillside away from the city center so it is much quieter than downtown. They city is VERY loud with noise until late at night, and sometimes we could hear the music drift even up to the hill top at night - but it was pleasant. Down in the center of town I don't think we would have gotten much sleep.”
