This is a long overdue review of Casa Estrella: our home for 4 months last year. The home is gorgeous! Everything was well thought out to ensure a wonderful and very comfortable stay. We had everything we needed and then some. The kitchen, which was featured on the cover of a magazine, had 2 sinks, a dishwasher, high end stove/oven,...

Stayed here last year and loved it. So sad to receive an e-mail from the owners announcing they have decided to close the hotel effective May 31 this year. Hopefully someone will take it over because it is in a beautiful location overlooking the town.

An attractive location apart from the busy and noisy center place but taxis are honest and avaliable in G. A beautiful house with a mixture of local and Mexican furnishing. A smiling staff always ready to welcome your wishes. And Xavier a perfect majordorme able to give you very personalized advice.the ultimate bed and breakfast/boutique hotel by all standards not...

This is a very well run operation. The staff & owner were incredibly warm, welcoming and helpful. Its been decorated with care and with quality material .. special shout-out for the divine bed sheets! I welcomed that it was a retreat from the hustle & bustle of the center of the city. We comfortably took the public bus (~50 cents)...

On the top of the hill. Lovely and beautiful house with good view. Impressed by the gracious hospitality of the staff there. Worth our whole trip and wish could stay more nights! They arrange the driver to take us to the next city of our trip and gave us a lot of good advice and help with traveling in town....

Beautiful accommodations. Top Chef quality breakfast each morning. Great advice on where to go, what to see and where to eat. All the taxi's from the town center knew where to go when we said Casa Estrella. We will be back. Thanks to all.

I was headed to a wedding in the lovely, small towns of Dolores Hidalgo and San Miguel Allende (over an hour from Leon/Guanajuato Airport) and wanted a place closer to the airport where I could spend 2 quiet nights beforehand. I got a terrific deal on Booking.com for 2 nights in a huge room with vaulted brick ceilings, a private...

I decided to go to Mexico, booking at the very last minute. Loved the look of Casa Estrella and Expedia said I'd got the last room! It's a lovely place, with the perfect view to go with breakfast on the balcony. Sharon made me feel very welcome and the staff followed her example. The delicious breakfasts - everything freshly made...

Guanajuato is one of the loveliest places I have ever visited (and I have seen some of the world) - you have to visit and stay in Casa Estrella. Such a warm and cozy hotel. Everybody of the team takes care of you. It is like coming home. If you need a taxi, a guide or even a donkey, they...

We enjoyed our recent stay in Casa Estrella. Communicating with Sharon for reservations was easy and her friendly manner made it comfortable to ask many questions. Sharon also suggested a couple of day trips that we participated in and really enjoyed. We had a friendly welcome by Javier and delicious homemade breakfasts each morning on a beautiful terrace. Our room...

“Anything we needed they took care of. Did not use a fitness area, so cannot elaborate on that point. Safe neighborhood - we walked a lot, and taxis were easily accessible as well. We stayed in quarters that were separated from the main part of the house. It was quiet. At night a nice breeze. Ceiling fans if needed, but we didn't need them. Jetted tub and shower in our bath was nice too. Luscious linens and very well appointed with art and artifacts from throughout Mexico. Satellite TV was nice when we wanted to watch an NBA playoff game. Lots of quarters so great for groups and they can cater - we will think about it in the future for a group getaway or wedding. The Inn is high on the hillside away from the city center so it is much quieter than downtown. They city is VERY loud with noise until late at night, and sometimes we could hear the music drift even up to the hill top at night - but it was pleasant. Down in the center of town I don't think we would have gotten much sleep.”
