The place is nice , the beach is wonderful. but. There is at least 150 steps or stairs to go down every time you want to go to the beach and another 150 stairs Up to the hotel! Great if your young and want the workout several times a day, not suitable for most seniors or young families with small....

Enjoyed a week long vacation at his lovely old hotel. However, it is getting older and needs more tlc. Bedding was clean but ratty and pillows were not comfortable at all. Our view was nice but could have been better if some of the shrubbery was pruned back. The stair climb from lobby to beach is a killer which made...

This is NOT AN ALL INCLUSIVE; it is a real hotel with real Mexican charm; built over 60 years ago it has been well maintained and is set in the hillside amongst the natural surroundings. It has the best beach in Zihua and amazing staff. And the Linda Vista Restaurant is the best kept secret in all of Mexico; last...

First visit to Catalina was June, 2007. Came back December, 2015. This time we had room 47, Linda Vista Suite with its beautiful view from the great balcony. We enjoyed several massages on the beach and had great dinners at both the hotel restaurant (lobster dinner on our last night) and the restaurants on the beach. Our best dinner was...

Zihuatanejo's oldest hotel on La Ropa beach. Spectacular setting on hillside above the beach. Views from the restaurant and Sunset Bar are amazing. The food is good. Happy hour at the sunset bar 6-8. Nice beach bar,no happy hour but good prices on their beers. You can order food at the beach which is nice so you don't have to...

If you like quirky and old world, this is for you. The guests keep coming back year after year, usually at the same time and in the same room, and for good reason. The staff, the food, the views, the stairs to the beach through jungle, there are so many reasons to love this place. But it is the guests...

We've stayed here many times over the past years. It is a beautiful location right on one of the best beaches in Mexico. The hotel has been around for many years and many of the visitors are repeaters like ourselves. It is somewhat rustic and the rooms are a little worn and tired but always clean. Staff is extremely nice...

When you walk past the gates of the Catalina you enter a special Narnia like world. Yes, it's a bit old world, but more so it is timeless. The hotel is not one big monolith, but rather several buildings nestled into a jungle hillside. Stone paths and stairs connect them to the beach, the dining room, and the pool. Some...

This place certainly has a lot of personality. We stayed in the Linda Vista suites, the most recent addition and very well presented. They have lovely balconies with huge hammocks and deck chairs. The beach is great, but the guy running the beach bar was trying to close up at 4pm every day when he was supposed to be open...
