Old charming building full of character and maintained well. Beautiful glasswork on the entryway. Great rooftop restaurant and vegan cafe connected to the hotel. Private balconies in all rooms. Strong reliable wifi. A few blocks from the beach.

Paloma Del Mar was of great interest to us because we could call them and confirm by phone that they had secure, off-street parking. The hotel is not modern, but the Wifi, TV and AC all worked well. The hotel was quite economical. The hotel is several blocks north of the end of the malecon and about 5 blocks inland. Shortcomings included the towels - only one bath towel each and no face cloths nor hand towels. I found the mattress uncomfortable. There wasn't a reading lamp on the bedside shelf. The chairs in the room and on the patio were not comforable. The chambermaid did not service our room in the morning, but showed up during siesta, not at all convenient. A number of chicken coops across Honduras from the hotel provided wakeup calls courtesy of roosters, at 5:30AM. My wife said she would be pleased to return to the Paloma Del Mar, as she especially liked the view and the patio. I found the hotel to be uncomfortable.

Unless you require the all inclusive resort experience, stay here with the locals, in the heart of the city, 3 blocks from the beach. Our room was clean, spacious and looked out onto the ocean, and we enjoyed hearing an occasional crow from an urban rooster! The staff was kind, sincere and accomodating, inspite of my limited Spanish. The roof top open air restaurant, La Traviata was excellent, as was, Las Menos, across the street. The vegetarian restaurant in the lower level was also wonderful. Glad we had this opportunity to see and experience Mexico!

We stayed in this hotel for 2 months in January and February of 2018. We totally loved every second of our stay. It's not like staying in a luxury 5 stars resort but rather like staying with family and friends. Our room was clean, had a small balcony for people watching, king size bed, kitchenette and a bathroom with shower. It had everything we needed for a long stay. We loved going for breakfast and coffee breaks in a downstairs restaurant or for dinner in La Traviata Restaurant located on the rooftop with one of the best views in town. We enjoyed our New Year's party there at the beginning of our stay as well. It is only a couple of blocks from a beach. The staff is bending backwards to please you and after a while they all become a very good friends. We are going back for another amazing stay next year and already missing the hotel and everyone who works there.

Check in was a bit rough but this wasn't the hotels fault but Booking.com did not communicate very well with the front desk. The staff there handled it very professionally and all was well. When we got into our room it was immaculate along with entire property. We had a large deck looking to the west (ocean side), great shower, full kitchen too. Housekeeping was there every morning and kept it spotless. The entire staff did a outstanding job and all were very friendly and cheerful. There is a restaurant on the roof which was very good and a breakfast place on the first floor also. It was a pleasure to stay here and will be back next year!

Very good balcony that allows you to ejoy fireworks during the holiday season. It is a very well located hotel 5min away from the beach. The rooftop pool is pretty clean as much as the hotel itself. The service is really good as well. I did not try the rooftop restaurant but the coffee shop downstairs has varied menu for on the go food. Only downside was the stiff mattress but after speaking with other tourists seems like that's the standard in the hotels there..

Our room was clean although not the quietest as it faced the road with roosters across the street and outside lights shining in the sliding glass door. Wonderful restaurant off lobby. Clean pool was available. Walking easily to shopping, Uber readily available. Deep sea fishing is a great attraction, however, snorkeling and scuba are accessible only by boat. Taxis out of airport and over walkway are $25 cheaper.

Stayed here for 16 days. Wonderful experience. There are different classes of rooms. The best rooms have a kitchen and their own terrace. These are reserved years in advance. Forget about getting them. The rest have no view . All the rooms are old but clean. Nice towels, tube tvs with lots of English channels, new air conditioners. Average sized cement pool and deck chairs. Very friendly and helpful. Our hallway was cleaned at least 2 times per day. If you are looking for basic clean room with great friendly service, This is the place. If you want a fancy vacation spot, look further. New vegetarian restaurant just opened downstairs. The restaurant upstairs has one of the best views in town. Some reviewers said the meals are hit and miss. Ours was good. It is located near numerous small grocery stores and a large supermarket. There are taco stands all over. Bus stops are near by. This is 3 blocks from the ocean. So you only see the ocean in the distance. They are one of the few hotels that has a mission statement on their website. They practice what they preach.

I stayed for 2 weeks at the Paloma del Mar and had a delightful experience. This property is located in a lovely neighborhood with very convenient access to public transport,2 seconds walk out the door);terrific dining options,a super market a few blocks away, the beach is less than 10 minutes walk, and whatever else you might need:laundry, barber shop, etc. I stayed one week in room 320,king bed,walk-in shower, cable tv with US channels, ceiling fan, small balcony and a huge veranda, plus a private walk way down to the pool,Wow!I stayed an additional week in room 313,smaller and more cozy with the same facilities and one of the best showers ever. La Traviata is on the top floor and serves an amazing breakfast in addition to Italian classics for dinner. The view is incredible and the service impeccable. The ladies at reception and in reservations are just wonderful people,"can do" people, always ready to help.
