We just came back from a 2-week honeymoon stay at Hotel Mousai and wanted to share our amazing experience with others: First off, Hotel Mousai was not our first choice in terms of a place to stay for our honeymoon as we had already booked an Air BnB for the same amount of time but quickly found out it wasn’t going to be the honeymoon experience we had wanted. The Air BnB itself was beautiful but it was too noisy and not relaxing having construction and noisy tenants next door so we set out to find the best hotel we could find and came across Hotel Mousai. It is part of the Garza Blanca chain of hotels owned by Tafer Group which is a Mexican-owned corporation (which we liked). It was definitely on the more expensive side for us compared to anything we had previously done but figured it was worth it for our once-in-a-lifetime trip. The hotel and staff did not disappoint us for the entire 2 weeks we were there. Everything was exceptional from the décor, the cuisine, and service. The hotel is very well constructed in terms of the attention to detail in the rooms and the artistic vibe that is present throughout the entire hotel. The ONLY complaint we had was that the room would make a crunching sound (similar to a plastic water bottle popping) when the sun would come out and hit the exterior of the building. It must have had something to do with the construction material and the temperature fluctuations, but it was quite annoying and, at times, made it difficult to rest. Everything else was fantastic about the building. We thought the food was excellent as well. Our favourite restaurant was Bocados Steakhouse because of the mussels and lamb (unbelievably tasty) as we did not try the steak there. For steak, we went slightly offsite (at Tierra Luna) to the paid restaurant called Karuma and we enjoyed a massive tomahawk steak which was delicious. The views and drinks are also amazing from there! We also really enjoyed the Japanese restaurant called Hiroshi as they had a beautiful view from the balcony, great drinks, and some amazing sushi. We like the Chinese restaurant (DAO), and the Italian (NOI) as well, but only ate there once each so we did not get as much of a taste for the items but had a great time and enjoyed the staff at both of them. Our least favourite place was the Mexican restaurant (Blanca Blue) as the food was not as nice or fancy as the other places, so we only went there once for dinner. The breakfast buffet there was amazing though and the handmade crepes and omelettes were delicious. One of our favourite parts of our stay here, however, was the amazing staff that we got to meet and know over our 2 weeks stay. Literally, everyone on site was friendly, warm, and helpful. They made you feel important and made it like you were home. If we could thank everyone individually we would but the list would be massive, so we have a few particular people that we want to note: The first is Carlos who was our butler for the entire time. Carlos is incredibly helpful, professional, and kind. He helped me with several things for my wife and was always available within a moments notice if we needed anything. I am certain the other butlers are just as good, but I highly recommend asking for Carlos as he made our trip that much easier and special. The guy is a rockstar at his job! The next people we would like to thank work at the concierge desk – Jaaziel and Karen. Jaaziel was very friendly and personable with us from the day we arrived. He helped us with organizing things and giving suggestions of where to go around town. I enjoyed laughing with him and his personality made him a pleasure to have around us every day. We looked forward to seeing his smile in the mornings! Karen was also very kind and professional in her role. She was always available to help with whatever we needed and would go the extra mile to do so. We got to know them both throughout our stay here and can say they are very lovely human beings in general and we would visit again just to see them. Since we stayed in the South Tower, the restaurant in our lobby was NOI which is the Italian one. Almost every evening the piano player, Adel, would play beautiful music for everyone eating there and anyone in the lobby. He made the atmosphere feel classy, romantic, and elegant. The bar staff at the lobby bar were amazing and made some of the best cocktails we had our entire trip. Eriberto and the rest of the bartenders know their drinks and you can tell they appreciate their craft. Their attention to detail when making cocktails is excellent. I highly recommend getting a “Smoked Old Fashioned” from there or any one of their cocktails on the list. Even their mocktails were delicious! Jerry from NOI was also excellent and a great server and host to us. We had some great chats about whiskey and brandy, and he went above and beyond to make our even enjoyable. Mario, Javier, and Noemi at Bocados were also amazing and took great care of us every time we visited the restaurant and made our experience more than enjoyable. A few other mentions from the restaurants would be David and Vero from DAO which was the Chinese restaurant – what a pleasant experience it was to have them there. Last, but certainly not least, all the staff on the rooftop bars were amazing. Stephanie was in South Tower almost every day we visited and would greet us with a smile. Alan was at South and then moved to North Tower but was a great guy who learned our names after only meeting for the first time. Really great team up there. There are many others from the team including hosts and servers, but we do not have everyone’s names unfortunately but would recommend all of them for excellent service. After all was said and done, we had an incredible trip to Puerto Vallarta and Hotel Mousai was a large part of that. It was the perfect place for a honeymoon trip as it was adults-only (in Hotel Mousai, not all of Garza Blanca), unbelievably fancy, and brought us peace and quiet throughout our stay. Thank you to everyone there that made it a trip of a lifetime for both of us.…
