It is safe for swimming if you are a good swimmer experienced in swimming in the ocean. (one person in our group went swimming for an hour every day - but he has experience as a beachfront lifeguard) Not family friendly and the beach itself is all rocks - there would be no "playing in the water"
A proper beach is a cab or busride away.
The pools are nice but it would be a stretch to call them "swimming" pools.
